    CANCEL CANCEL CANCEL

    rating22 May 2026

Wish I'd read the comments here and I could have cancelled. As you drive into the hotel, past the skip, mechanical digger and a vast array of building materials, the noise hits you immediately, together with the realisation that there is no longer a pool, despite photos still appearing on the website. The superior sea view room we paid a considerable amount for was noisy with a terrible outlook onto the works. We changed to a standard room which overlooked other bedroom balconies but first had to negotiate the painters and dust sheets as the corridor was being painted. We were offered a credit of the difference between the 2 rooms which we took as 2 breakfasts and a credit in the bar. Their definition of bar was a sofa in the dining room together with the other guests having their evening meal. The aircon unit blew out a pathetic waft of warm air which did nothing to dispel the odour of paint . We've stayed at several Parador hotels, including this one previously, and always had excellent service and facilities, but not to be informed of all this renovation work is a huge lack of respect to the guests. Parador Mojacar, Other at Parador De Mojacar, responded to this review Dear Elaine WThank you for sharing your experience and for your loyalty to Paradores on previous stays. We are truly sorry that your recent visit did not reflect the calm, well-appointed environment and attentive service our guests expect. Our aim is to provide accurate, up-to-date information and comfortable accommodations throughout a guest’s stay. We regret that renovation activity affected your impressions of the arrival area, guestrooms, and common spaces, and that the adjustments made during your stay did not enhance your comfort as intended.Work on our new pool began in winter with the intention of opening for the summer season. Unforeseen circumstances have delayed the schedule and required a change to the planned opening date. As part of a broader refurbishment across Paradores, some timelines are influenced by Turespaña’s planning, and this has extended certain phases at our property. We appreciate your detailed comments, which help us uphold the high standards that have earned your trust in the past. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back when the enhancements are complete and to provide the restful experience you expect from us.Best regards,Tana Blázquez,Parador Manager.

The Elephant in the room is....

    rating18 May 2026

The extensive building work at the former pool area ruined this stay. There is no information on the website and the Hotel did not inform me this work was going on after or during the booking process. This lack of transparency led us into a situation where I could not make an informed choice and cancel the booking before arrival. The pool area is a real mess and I seriously doubt it will be completed before August. The Bar (a makeshift table) and restaurant did not look appealing so we ate out and are leaving without taking up the offer of breakfast.I write this at 5am from my room dissatisfied and can't wait to leave. My advice, cancel your reservation if you can until the work is completed. Parador Mojacar, Other at Parador De Mojacar, responded to this review Dear Superpigeon,Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are genuinely sorry that your stay did not reflect the calm and comfort our guests expect, and we understand how disappointing this experience must have been.Work on the new pool began in winter with the intention of welcoming guests to it this summer. Unfortunately, unexpected factors have delayed progress and shifted the anticipated opening date. The wider renovation across Paradores, in some instances aligned with Turespaña’s planning, has also influenced timings at our property. We regret any inconvenience this created during your visit and appreciate your perspective on the impact to the atmosphere and amenities. Our aim is always to provide clear, helpful information and a seamless experience, and we are committed to the standards that define our service.Thank you again for your comments, which we value as we strive to provide the environment and hospitality our guests deserve. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for a more relaxing stay.Best regards,Tana Blázquez,Parador Manager.

Wait until the construction is finished

    rating15 May 2026

The was the first Parador we ever stayed at back in 2014. The hotel remains the same and the staff friendly. The huge negative was the construction zone outside our window with workers completely reworking the pool area beginning at 8am each day. I can understand guests being irate when they were expecting a pool and there is none. Even the view to the ocean was obstructed.Check in was easy and there is free parking, but it can fill up. There are EV charging points. The room was nothing fancy, but completely adequate. Complimentary water was provided as was a pot for boiling water. There was a do not drink the tap water sticker in the bathroom, so I’m not sure why water glasses were in there. The breakfast buffet is standard for a Parador, but I’m not a big fan of birds flying into the dining room and walking on tables, napkins, etc. While the hotel itself was fine until the construction is completed, I’d avoid it. Parador Mojacar, Other at Parador De Mojacar, responded to this review Dear jaimeelsabioThank you for taking the time to share your detailed impressions of your recent stay and for returning after your first visit years ago. We are pleased to know you found our team welcoming, check-in smooth, and the parking and in-room amenities convenient. We are genuinely sorry for the disruption you experienced due to the works near your room and the impact on views and pool availability. The project began over winter with the aim of opening the new pool for the summer, and unforeseen circumstances have pushed back the timeline. This forms part of a wider refurbishment across Paradores, with certain schedules influenced by Turespaña’s planning.Your notes regarding the breakfast setting and room details are appreciated, and they help us measure how our services align with the experience we strive to provide. We value your feedback and the perspective you have shared as a returning guest. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again and provide a stay that reflects our highest standards. Best regards,Tana Blázquez,Parador Manager.

    A lovely hotel to stay

    rating09 Apr 2026

A last minute staycation. A modern hotel with very comfortable rooms. Friendly and efficient customer service. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a variety of cold options and hot food made to order. The only downside was the pool and open area refurb. The pool, spa and gym closure was noted while booking the stay. Being a Sunday there was no work and on Monday the work started just about 0830. Had we been staying longer then the construction noise would have become a bit tiresome. Parador Mojacar, Other at Parador De Mojacar, responded to this review Dear charleyboy1955,Thank you for choosing us for a last-minute staycation and for sharing such thoughtful feedback. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed our modern accommodations, the comfort of your room, and the welcoming service from our team.It is wonderful to know the breakfast buffet met your expectations, especially the selection of cold items and the made-to-order hot dishes. Your recognition means a great deal to us and reflects our dedication to providing a high-quality start to the day.We are sorry for any inconvenience caused by the facilities being unavailable and the daytime activity related to our ongoing improvements. Work began during the colder months with the intention of reopening the pool by summer; however, unexpected factors have delayed the schedule and adjusted the anticipated opening. The broader renovation across Paradores is extensive and, in certain aspects, aligned with Turespaña’s programming, which can also influence timing. We appreciate your understanding and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back when these enhancements are complete, so you can enjoy the full range of amenities.Best regards,Tana Blázquez,Parador Manager.

Beware Major Refurbishment Works Outside Area

    rating06 Mar 2026

We have just returned from a 3 day stay at Parador de Mojacar 2nd to 5th March, having booked and pre paid in good faith at the end of last year as previous loyal customers. We had not checked reviews prior to our stay as we had stayed at the hotel many times before at different times of the year but this time we wished we had as this would have forewarned us of the building site which awaited us. In our view we should never have been allowed to arrive for our stay without the management sharing information with us and all guests booked and potential guests too about the major refurbishment to the outside areas which mean that the listed facilities and impressive photos of the majority of the outside areas which do not currently exist. On arrival we were greeted by skips, cordoned off areas, mud, noise and very limited outside environments. At no point during checking in did reception staff comment on the works the least we might have expected, if it wasn’t deemed necessary to inform guests prior to arrival. In the past regardless of time of year we have been able to walk out onto the Mojacar paseo by various routes through the grounds, stand and look at the sea from the raised area, sit and chill in the sun, enjoy the various fauna in the area which has always been well kept. None of this was possible this time due to the major refurbishments which will eventually provide a much improved area for future guests, with little or no consideration for paying guests now.We contacted via email the hotel directly and also head office both customer services and amigos several times and received responses from central customer services only, although we are still awaiting a reply for the most recent one. We questioned the fact that we had not been informed of the major refurbishments, which is inexcusable as our contact details were part of the booking process, also the hotel doesn’t seem to think it necessary to add information to their website or to contact guests. We have requested that both of these complaints are addressed which would give guests the choice whether to book or not. If we had know we would have requested a refund or the opportunity to amend to a later date rather than end our holiday in the area disappointed. “I am sorry that you felt information about the works should have been shared more proactively and that this communication did not meet your expectations. Your feedback is important, and we have already escalated your comments internally to ensure that future communications around refurbishment works are as transparent and detailed as possible. Our intention is always to allow guests to make their travel decisions with complete information.” We have looked today and still nothing on website. “Please be assured that your comments have been taken seriously, and that they will help us continue improving how we inform and accompany our guests during periods of renovation.” We feel we have been fobbed off and do not want any other booked or potential guests to feel the disappointment with the experience we have.We have been told that the outside pool would not be in use in the winter anyway and that refurbishment is happening now to ensure that it can be enjoyed in optimal condition when it reopens, that these works are part of a broader programme approved and managed by Turespaña, and the timelines and scope are defined by them. We were also told that “The Parador has informed us that, at this moment, the construction work itself is paused, and only measurement tasks are being carried out in the pool area. These activities do not generate construction noise.” During our visit a digger arrived and was used for further excavation of the pool and also to remove tiles from the base after others had been drilled from the side. We videoed this and sent with our complaint unfortunately it cannot be uploaded here. We paid premium prices to stay not just in a well appointed room, indoor environment but also the grounds and surroundings too. The hotel should be honest with guests who are being expected to pay high rates for facilities which are not available, the view from the restaurant is lovely as long as you don’t look down, the walks around the grounds are impossible. We are not complainers and sent repeated emails about the lack of information hoping for an apology that this wasn’t available in any form. We would suggest that anyone already booked or thinking of booking contacts the hotel directly for up to date inform about the works and also current photographs and time scale for completion to allow informed decision to be made. We are led to believe that it will be June before works are finished. We hope that the Parador de Mojacar shows their guests the respect they deserve when choosing to visit and shares information about current refurbishment and future ones too for this and individual hotels within this highly respected brand of hotels. Parador Mojacar, Other at Parador De Mojacar, responded to this review Ms Heather WThank you for taking the time to share such a detailed account of your recent three‑day stay. We are grateful for your loyalty over the years and truly regret that this visit did not reflect the experience you expected from our brand. We understand how disappointing it must have been to encounter restricted outdoor areas and a less tranquil environment. Please accept our sincere apology for any inconvenience this caused and for any frustration related to the information you felt was missing before and during your arrival. Our aim is to provide clear, timely communication so guests can plan confidently, and we are sorry that your experience did not align with that standard. We also regret that the ambiance around the grounds did not meet the level of comfort and relaxation you associate with previous stays.Your observations about arrival impressions, guest access around the property, and the overall impact on the stay are invaluable to our team. We appreciate you sharing them so thoughtfully, and we remain committed to delivering the consistent quality and transparency that our guests rightly expect. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back under improved circumstances and restore your confidence in our hospitality.Kind regards,Tana Blázquez,Parador Manager
