  Great hotel , Great Staff, Great location.

  This is an excellent hotel. Built on a hill, situated in a Spanish speaking area of Aguadulce. Reception is on the 4th floor. You will find all staff friendly, professional and welcoming. The hotel has 10 floors, some sections are of a Western theme. The rooms are are spacious and cleaned daily, offering built in climate control for all seasons. As for meals, there is a spacious dining room located on the 3rd floor Food is in a buffet style, with easy access and prepared fresh. There is a variety of choice, from hot, to cold, and of course the deserts. There is an Outdoor pool and indoor pool. The indoor pool is usually closed during the summer season. I would say it is very child friendly. Activity staff are also on hand .The hotel is right across from the beach, accessable through a security gate. There is also easy access to regular public transportation. Buses well take you to the City of Almeria, or the other way to Roquetas de Mar. (In this area you also will find a large shopping centre, "Gran Plaza," and an outdoor themed Mario waterpark).The buses offer a regular service 7 days a week. Prices a very reasonable, affordable. Aguadulce is a small Spanish town with shops along the main road. There are a couple of supermarkets within walking distance, Mercadona at the top of the hill, or a little along the main road, on the right, Consum supermarket. (Prices really good here). You will see many people walking along the seafront in the evening. The marina is a go to place in the evening, offering a family night life, restaurants, etc.Might be worth noting, learning a few basic Spanish phrases will help you out. I have been to this hotel many times over the years, I would recommend staying here. I wish you all the best in your travels.   I have just come back from here and I wouldn’t recommend this place at all save your money! I wasn’t expecting a lot going there but I sure thought I’d have a better experience and treatment unfortunately that wasn’t the case and I can over look run down rooms however the Food was awful, raw pasta cold food most of the time, 3 nights straight I ate raw meat via the show cooking station which was a shame as it was the only bit of food I enjoyed there was only so much salad and bread I could eat before I felt sick so unfortunately I was hungry most of my trip. We had came back after being out all day to leak in the ceiling dripping all over the floor I slipped over and hurt my leg and when I reported this to reception they was very rude to me as if I had caused it and I got no apology or asked if I was ok or communication about what had happened after they fixed it. The nearest shop was 20/30 minute walk there was nothing near by at all so be prepared for the walk! Poor customer service and nothing near by and bad food I wouldn’t stay here if it was free I wanted to leave after day 1!   The playadulce is a spacious hotel.the room we had on the 8th floor was very clean although slightly dated in places but this added to it charm. The pool areas were well kept and we liked the idea that the pool did not open until ten o’clock but didn’t enjoy queuing for it. Some mornings the queue for entrance to the restaurant was horrendous, we had to get our sunbeds then go to breakfast and hope the lifeguard didn’t remove our towels as a Spanish man who was extremely rude complained about towels being left . Apparently you have an hour then they are removed, The food in the restaurant was very repetitive as there were no shops nearby we decided to upgrade to all inclusive. The nearest supermarket is a 20 minute walk uphill.What was served at lunch you got for dinner with a few extra additions.All in all we had a nice time but found there was a definite favouritism towards the Spanish guests especially at the bars .some Spanish people we found very rude towards the English guests specially around the pool areas English guests had there towels removed when they had gone to lunch but the Spanish guests didnt , the lifeguard was being informed by a Spanish man and his wife who’s towels to remove . This just put a spoiler on things. The evening entertainment and the children’s clubs are all in Spanish so our children had to come back as they did not know what was happening.Maybe the entertainment team could adapt to both languages .The evening entertainment was a little lame as well. The reviews we read do not give a true reflection of the facilities I’m sorry to say.Most of the staff are lovely and friendly but the bar staff need to explain the art of queuing to guests to avoid confrontations.Again a nice hotel but not a lot around it, the marina is 20min walk away and there are plenty of bars and cafe bars the beach is shale cleaned in the morning but by afternoon it’s full if cigarette ends and rubbish which is a pity.   Amazing for allergies and all round great

  This hotel is great. A little tired in places and not the most swish looking but the staff are fantastic and so helpful and the location is great. Rooms large and cleaned everyday. Direct beach / promenade access (shingle/stony beach not the best for sandcastles). Food selection is good. They have breakfast, lunch, light tea and dinner. This light tea 5-7 was a lifesaver for young kids who can’t wait until 7.30pm to have dinner. Entertainment - just the right amount (not constant banging music all day thank god). Aircon good. Pools great and no problem getting sunbeds even in July school hols (unless you HAVE to have CERTAIN sunbeds at exactly 10am!!). Allergies- they are amazing with people with allergies (gluten and dairy free here). I assumed I’d have to eat egg salad for 9 days off the buffet but once I’d made the restaurant staff aware of my allergies they gave me a list of all gluten and milk free meals they could make me for lunch and dinner each day then I gave them my order at breakfast time for later that day! It was incredible. They also went through everything on the buffet stating whether it had gluten or milk in. They also went and specially purchased soya yoghurt for me as I asked if they had any! They already have oat and soya milk available. Also made to order omelettes each morning perfect for allergies as can pick what you want in it. I was blown away by their attention to detail and care about this. They were all good but Rocio was the best, she guided me and explained how I could have specially prepared meals, checked everything with the chef etc. absolutely first class experience and something I have NEVER experienced before at a restaurant or hotel, especially an all inclusive buffet.
