  Very good hotel, excellent food facilities and good quality/variety,but does cater for mainly Spanish tourists,entertainment for small children ,hotel is situated a little bit out of the way with a 20-30 minute walk to bars,restaurants, supermarkets etc, staff were extremely helpful, friendly and very courteous, all in all a nice family holiday.   Don't waste your money..! Stayed for 2wks & bedding didn't get changed once! Had to go to reception for clean towels & toilet paper more than once..! Had to ask for soap dispensers to be refilled as this wasnt done when room was 'cleaned' Picked up multiple hairballs in our room over the week AFTER it was supposed to have been cleaned. Reception staff were less than helpful, communication was also a problem. Food was barely warm or cold with little choice on offer. Had to fill up on bread multiple times during our stay. Lifeguards just sat round the pool on their phones. Very disappointed as this was NOT a cheap holiday!! Needless to say, will not be visiting again even if offered for free..!!!! All of our front desk staff speak English, and we sincerely apologize if communication was not up to standard at any point during your stay.Regarding the food, we operate on a 7-day rotating menu that includes a variety of meats and fish, both grilled and in hot dishes. We also offer a selection of prepared cold salads, fresh vegetables to create your own salad, whole fruit, cut fruit, and a range of desserts. We're sorry to hear that this selection did not meet your expectations.We have taken note of your comments about the lifeguards at the pool.   worst all inclusive holiday we have ever had

  just got back from this hotel rated 4 star iwould be pushed too give it 2 star food was very poor and warm didnt have a hot meal in a fortnight beds wasnt changed the whole stay if you wanted to change the pool towels there was a 1 euro charge every day the entertainment was all in spanish only 2 toilets in the entertainment area dining area was dirty food still on the floor from the night before Hotel- cmanager, Owner at Playamojacar Hotel, responded to this review Dear Philip,Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay.We sincerely apologize that your experience fell short of our usual standards in multiple areas.   Brilliant hotel

  Just returned after a brilliant week at this hotel. I travelled with my two youngest children along with my friend and her children. We thought the hotel was perfect. Great selection of food options, drinks were all branded! unlike many other hotels, where the drinks aren't.The pools were lovely, yes a little busy but what do you expect peak holiday season. The life guards were fantastic! Extremely on the ball and I felt very safe knowing the children were safe on the waterslides. Bar staff and waiters were all lovely, and so were the entertainment team!   This is looks like from the outside an up and coming hotel, it’s newly refurbished rooms are lovely and clean, super shower albeit basic room set up - no artwork on walls, and no coffee/tea making facilities, although, rooms have a decent sized fridge.We had a ‘family room’ which had a ‘separated’ lounge area, with sofa bed for the kids. There’s no door or privacy screen. The beds are neatly made, no complaints; a sofa bed is a sofa bed at the end of the day, what do you expect!? The balcony is large with a small table and bistro chairs, capable of a nice sofa set to enjoy the seaview with a coffee in the morning!! Again another miss for the hotel. We paid twice as much for a family room as we did for our dear mum to stay in a double room next door which was exactly the same room as our family room! The breakfast is chaotic!! We ate out every morning, majority of the beach restaurants do a wonderful breakfast. Homemade coffee brought to your table, fresh fruit platters… vs the hotels watermelon slices that run out almost instantly. It’s pretty basic scrambled eggs, a bit of ham and cheese. The quality is poor. But the staff are wonderful and helpful and try their best! There’s just not enough of them. So if you arrive out of hours, don’t expect anyone bring your cases to the room, there aren’t any porters! The pool opens at 10am, people queue to get in. It’s busy in August and difficult to get onto the slides - our boys told 40min wait! It’s not 4star by any means, the WiFi is terrible, the food is naff, as is the design and layout, but it’s clean, decent shower and a 15mins walk to beach.
