  We arrived yesterday at the hotel and we were very impressed with the reception area and check in. Our room is perfect and has a good view towards the sea. The staff team are very friendly. HOWEVER.... we were enjoying a drink at the bar last night and before the bar closed we were asked to put our drinks into paper cups. This is something that I have never experienced and would not expect from a five star hotel. In addition we are staying for three nights. This meant that we were not allowed to go to one of their a la carte restaurants. As it is my partners birthday we asked if we could pay an extra amount to go to the Asian restaurant. We were told that this was not possible as we were only staying three nights. This was disappointing as the food in the buffet restaurant is only average. On the whole we would recommend the hotel if you can forgive these snags.   Excellent holiday

  This hotel is one of my favourites and is always good for a safe and value for money holiday.The hotel is spotless, well run and has amazing staff which made the holiday.I first came here in 2013 and still enjoy my holidays. The location in the middle of Roquetas de Mar and has access straight to the beach. It is a slower pace of life and there is no rowdy bars or loud music.The food in the hotel is fresh and delicious and plentiful and should meet the requirements of most people.My only observation is that breakfast could have been a bit hotter. The salads at lunchtime were amazing. Food off the grill, meat and fish was great and a good variety.The room we had was spotless, spacious and quiet with a view of the beach and the pool. The bed was really comfortable and we slept well.The staff are engaging and go out of their way to help. Reception staff all speak English and really help you.The hotel needs an update in furniture and decor, but nothing else.   Lovely clean hotel and staff, would stay again!

  Just got back from a lovely 7 night stay at Protur Roquetas. The hotel is lovely and clean and all the staff are so welcoming and friendly. They all said hello and made a great effort with my 1 year old who loved giving out high fives to everyone. They all work so hard from the dining staff, reception and the cleaners! We enjoyed the swimming pools and the splash pad greatly. My only slight negative about the splash pad is there is a lot of debris in the bottom of the water (as if dirt from the side of the pool gets swept in there or it just isn’t cleaned out very often). I loved how despite it being a busy hotel you never had to wait very long for drinks at the bar or hot drinks and toast in the morning. The food at the restaurant was lovely. I’m a fussy vegetarian and my child has allergies but we found food to eat every night. There are two À la cart restaurants, an Asian and an Italian. You have to reserve a table asap as they get booked up quickly. I can’t comment on the food in them as we left it too late and couldn’t get a reservation there. As with most hotels you have to play sunbed wars and get out at the crack of dawn to get a sunbed by the pool. But we always went later in the afternoon and managed to get a sunbed on the grass area. I understand what other reviews meant by the hotel being a bit dated. The decor doesn’t bother me but they need new shower screens as the bathrooms get flooded every time you take a shower and all the toilet seats have weird marks on them, including the ones by reception. As a 5* hotel they should make an effort to replace all the toilet seats. Even though it is clean it gives the impression it’s grubby! Our random highlight was the swift lifts. They are big glass ones that run really fast so no waiting around for them. My 1 year old also loved pressing the buttons to get in ?? The local area is nice. Right on the beach front, but not very much to do. Not very many cafés or bars. It is a more quiet area. We were going to go to Almeria for the day but the bus takes 45mins/1hr (which we didn’t want to do with a small child) or a taxi was estimated €50/€60 each way. So we gave that a miss. Overall, a lovely friendly hotel and very clean!   Relaxing holiday.

  We stayed here for a week, all inclusive.The hotel overlooks a beach that goes on for miles.Our room 268 overlooked a children's pool.Our room was very well maintained & the cleaner did a great job every day.There are more than enough sun beds available around the main pool, throughout the gardens & on an elevated sun terrace.The food in this hotel is some of the best we have ever had.There is also an Asian restaurant & an Italian restaurant in the hotel that you have to book at reception.The drinks package ends at midnight, the local beer was a little flat but tasted ok & my wife assures me that the Bacardi was very good.Outside the hotel there are numerous eateries mainly Spanish with the odd Indian & Italian.The hotel staff were excellent, from top to bottom.The only thing we didn't like was the evening entertainment programme, had this been better we would give the hotel 5/5.That said we would go back, it's a great hotel for a stress free holiday.   Excellent and definitely on the cards for a return visit.

  For a change, a hotel that actually met up to what it promised. Overall everything was excellent. We enjoyed several sessions in the Spa; very clean and comfortable. The choice of food in the restaurant was excellent, with different themes each evening. The staff were so attentive and cleared used tables and crockery without delay. The grounds were well presented and kept. Our suite was very comfortable and spacious. If we had one complaint, it would be with the noise levels of the outdoor 'exercise' classes; the boom-boom music and presenters were far too loud, especially as most of the guests were retirees. Several comfortable lounge areas and excellent bar service. The underground car parking was good with plenty of space to park each vehicle. A very enjoyable stay. One which we are likely to repeat.
