  Seaside good location, spacious rooms but rude staff

  A well known place for locals, it’s not distinguished for their “greeting” staff. As if they were making a favor, they are rude and unwilling to give any info but your room number and the cafeteria schedule. They have this sign hanging on every wall asking to keep it silent for other guests rest accordingly but they are the first, at barely 8:00 to start opening/closing doors, vacuuming and so forth.   Our first stop driving round Spain and Portugal. Nice hotel, quite dated but in an elegant way. Breakfast, in their attached cafe, was excellent - all freshly cooked to order.As mentioned by others, there is no parking at all, and finding the underground parking, and paying top price for it, was a bit of a nightmere.Sadly our room was at the back and overlooked - nothing much at all.   Hotel on the seaside

  This maybe old fashioned hotel is situated on the beach front within walking distance of everything. Old town, Elogio del horizonte. It doesn’t have parking, but public parking at €22/day available. Clean, great bed, pillow to share. Bathroom adequate with shower only. Room with roll down shutters keeps all light out. Room also a bit warm. Location is perfect.   A Treasure in Gijón

  Absolutely beautiful hotel! The entrance and deco has a classic elegance and style. The staff were great! friendly and very attentive. The sea views from the room window were amazing, what a pleasure to wake up to! The beach was there in front... just across the street. Gijón is a place I want to return to and I will stay here again without a doubt!   Great location, friendly staff and very clean

  I stayed in Hotel Alcomar in August during a surftrip. The staff was very friendly and I felt very welcome. It might not be the most hip and trendy hotel, but i loved the atmosphere and the classic old feel to it. My room was spacious, clean and it had a huge bathroom. Only minus might be the noice from other guests in the hallway, if they are talking in the hallway you can hear them quite clearly. The location is great as well, next to the beach and near the old historic center and the numerous bars and restaurants. You cant have a more perfect location. I really enjoyed my stay and i would come back for sure!
