    Eurostars Palacio de Cristal

    rating02 Feb 2026

One of the best hotel stays I’ve ever had. We stayed in a suite that was absolutely gigantic (around 80 m²), spotless, and very comfortable. The beds were excellent, and what really surprised me was that I paid what I would normally expect to pay for a standard double room. The hotel is located inside the Palacio de Congresos de Oviedo, an impressive and iconic building designed by the renowned architect Santiago Calatrava. The architecture alone makes the stay feel special — modern, striking, and full of character, with incredible views over the city. The combination of space, comfort, cleanliness, and location made this an outstanding experience. Highly recommended. One small remark: I received two emails about online check-out. The second one, sent at 6:00 a.m. on the day of departure, felt a bit unnecessary and slightly gave the impression that we were being rushed to leave — especially as it said “I hope you enjoyed your stay with us,” while we were still at the hotel. It’s a minor detail, but worth mentioning.

    Outside weird..inside wonderful

    rating23 Dec 2025

Decent location 15 minutes walk to Oviedo old town...the spotlessly clean hotel rooms ( some of the furniture is a bit worn...but nothing terrible) have wonderful beds, crisp cotton linens, huge bathrooms and ample storage ( the heating and cooling system is fantastic and quick) if you are lucky. Like us .you may have a wonderful view of the picos) all this makes the crazy huge building designed by Santiago Calatrava that houses the Eurostars hotel an excellent choice for a stay in Oviedo. The staff are friendly and efficient...the hotel has secure parking at 13euros per 24 hours...it's worth it.. despite what others say..there is no free parking nearby..and you do do at high risk of being clamped. Nearby a great local cafe for excellent coffee and breakfast options is the delightful La Botica Indiana....

    not recommended

Business trip experience – not recommendedI came here on a business trip for a few days, but after the first night I decided not to stay longer. Here’s why:First impressions & locationThe exterior is huge, but very old, rusty, and dirty. Location itself is convenient - you can reach most places in the city quickly.ParkingFinding a parking spot the first time was a bit complicated, but the reception staff helped me. Parking in front of the hotel is only allowed for 10-15 minutes. The parking area was also under renovation, so it was confusing where to go at first.Check-in & lobbyCheck-in was fast, though I was surprised that parking was not free (around €15 per night). The hotel inside looks just as old as outside. It’s huge, so walking with luggage to the room was not easy.RoomI was given a room for disabled guests, which I didn’t book. Reception refused to change it, saying the hotel was fully booked - although the parking lot was almost empty, which felt strange. The room itself was large but outdated. The bathroom was not very clean, with rust and marks everywhere. Toiletries were incomplete, and there was no complimentary bottled water - unacceptable for this price. The bed was average, Wi-Fi speed was decent (about 100 Mbps) but not very stable. There was a rainbow light above the bed, which ruined the atmosphere. The view was terrible - just rusty old buildings. The air conditioner could not be adjusted, so you can’t set your preferred temperature.BreakfastThe breakfast room was big with many options, but the quality was disappointing. Coffee was especially bad. Overall: 2/5.Other notesReception gave me free parking as compensation for the room issue, but that didn’t really improve the experience.ConclusionFor the price and the quality of service provided, I was not satisfied. Personally, I will not stay at this hotel again.

Good hotel but a bit far from the centre

    rating15 May 2025

Friendly and helpful receptionist. The hotel is in a very unusual “spaceship” building, in a quiet residential area.Large room and bathroom. Spotless. A fridge and a safe. Not sure about the AC for warmer months. Ovideo was cool and rainy when we were there. No restaurant options nearby, but La Botica Indiana around the corner was great for breakfast, excellent tostado and coffee. If I return to Oviedo, I don’t think I would stay here again because of the distance to the centre and the lack of nearby restaurants.

    True experience

As a genuine architecture fan, I was thrilled to stay here for our last night on the Camino. Calatreva design is inspiring but the whole thing (building structure, room furniture and overall design) looked already dated and clearly lacking soul. We had a junior suite with was huge and offered nice mountain views. Staff was attentive and willing to help. I enjoyed my experience there but I appreciate this may not suit all tastes and expectations.
