Great hotel, great location and excellent quality/price ratio

    rating29 Mar 2024

When the real luxury is the simplicity, local spirit and good service, nothing else matters. This four star hotel is a classic hotel in Oviedo. We are clients since many years ago and everytime we take a tour to that city we always choose it. The hotel is placed a few meters away from the gorgeous gothic Cathedral and the pedestrian city center, so the place cannot be better located. Quality price relation is excellent, staff is friendly and beds are comfortable and full of plugs to charge phones and computers. Choice for Breakfast is good and with a domestic flavour. We will keep on returning to this hotel.

    Never Again

    rating16 Jun 2022

Upon arrival to our room, we noticed it was stuffy and proceeded to adjust the temperature only to find that the AC to all rooms was not turned on "because it was not summer" according to the front desk clerk. We expressed our concern to the booking agent who immediately contacted the hotel with no response. On day 2, we stopped at the front desk again and were told to just open our window which we tried the night before resulting in loud street and pedestrian noise throughout the night. We asked for a fan and were told there were none. Again we contacted our booking agent after a sleepless night and again the hotel did not respond. on Day 2 we returned to the room to find the air on but at 10pm, the air was no longer active and the front desk indicated the air was automatically turned off at 10PM and he had no access to turn it on. The outside temperature had reached record highs in the 90's and we had another sleepless night. On day 3, we asked why the air was programmed to turn off at night and were told, "that is how we do it here"!! The AC was programmed by management and we asked to speak to the manager and were told she would call us. We never received a call and acknowledgment during our stay. Day 3 and 4 the AC was programmed to run from 5P to 12MN. We checked out on Day 5 with no apologies or accommodation to our final bill.

4 star, but could be 3

    rating09 Aug 2020

I had to wait while other guests were being registered at reception, I understand. But while they were treated as sir and madam, the receptionist treated me as "boy", which I found disrespectful being 50 years-old. I requested a one-bed room, they gave me a two-bed room. The room is poorly decorated, it's an old hotel and I disliked the decoration. Plugs are placed inconveniently if you want to use the desk. No views but the neighbours. Poor shower, quite dangerous inside an old small bathtube. Internet was good, and the location quite convenient, but I'm not returning ever.

    Not 4 stars

    rating17 Sept 2019

Definitely not 4 stars. Breakfast was very average. No ramp to get to the lifts. Other guests had no airconditioning. Other guests had no toiletries as if the rooms hadn't been finished. Thankfully it was well located which was a redeeming factor.

    Weird room

    rating25 Aug 2019

This hotel is conveniently located at the border of the old town, and a street with many restaurants nearby. So you can visit Oviedo by foot easily. Our room (210) was a bit weird: 12 meters deep and only 1.5 meter wide at the smallest side... so there is many space unused. With the airco so far away from the bed it was pretty warm at night even though it wasn't too warm outside. Breakfast was average, mainly because the coffee from the machine was nott very good. Parking is 12.50 euro/night.
