Just let down by air conditioning
25 Sept 2025
Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Clean room. Nice bathroom with powerful shower. Comfortable, if quite small, double bed. Fantastic location.Slight disappointment is that the advertised air conditioning is not fit for purpose. We would wake up in middle of night very hot (and this was with overnight temperatures outside of mid teens maximum). If you open the doors, you get a lot of mosquitoes (bites to prove it 😂) and are subject to the noise of any revellers in the street. The room could also have done with some extra amenities (coffee for eg) and maybe some better lighting/decor. Overall though, we were reasonably happy for our visit to Gijon.

An excellent location with wonderful helpful people. They have parking. The receptionist guided me in. People were cheerful and welcoming. Surrounded by beautiful bars and restaurants. Close to the town the harbour and the beach. Like 5 minutes close. Will definitely return

Lovely hotel, perfect location

This was my third visit to Gijon, and it won't be my last. A short 1 3/4 hour flight from Gatwick with Vueling, and a 1/2 hour taxi ride from OVD (Asturias) Airport and I was in town. The hotel reception staff were attentive from check-in to check-out, even helping out with a minor injury! The hotel room was spotless, with plenty of storage space, writing desk and a comfy bed. The ensuite was A1, with excellent shower and other accessories including a hairdryer and even a bidet (unused...!). The continental breakfast was fine and as expected, delicious coffee!! Gijon is not a large town but offers plenty. The expansive San Lorenso beach front with a huge promenade, makes an ideal surf beach which isn't ideal for small children, but behind the bay is another beach, near the marina, which is ideal for younger families. The restaurants, oh the restaurants... I ate two large meals a day and never at the same restaurant twice, all very reasonably priced one clear recommendation is the Fabada, a basic meal comprising of beans, with chorizo and pork (or clam), with flavours you'll never have enjoyed before! Buenas vacaciones y gracias Gijon!

Modern and Central

I loved this hotel where I stayed 2 nights while walking the Camino de Santiago del Norte route. The reception staff are super. They speak good English and are cheerful and very helpful. The hotel seems fairly new or at least newly renovated. The lift was small but adequate. My room felt modern and clean. It had twin beds which is not my favourite configuration but I was willing to accept that to be able to book the second night at short notice. The bed was also a little firm for my taste. There was a small desk and chair and a closet that contained a safe. Natural light came from a large skylight. The bathroom was fairly standard with the shower over a tub. The wifi worked really well with a strong, stable signal. I had breakfast one morning and it was excellent and well worth the very reasonable cost. Lots of choices of bread and pastries, cereal, cheese, ham, fruit and jams plus tea and coffee. The restaurant also serves coffee and drinks during the day and has a few tables on the street. The hotel is right in the centre of the city making it easy to walk anywhere. It is obviously very popular as shown by it being full on my second night and rightly so. Highly recommended.
