  Exceptional visit to this stunning Parador rich in history!

  What a lovely Parador; we have stayed at several, and this is now one of our favorites. The staff were so welcoming, and even took extra care to ensure our pet enjoyed the visit. The mountain vistas are stunning, and the efforts to preserve the history of this particular Parador were amazing. The restaurant highlighted local delicacies, and accommodated gracefully to dietary restrictions. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer to enjoy all of the activities the Parador offered.   Parador Cangas de Onis is beautifully situated next to the River Sella. It is comfortable, the staff are helpful and the bedroom spacious.   This is the best Parador of our tour so far! Great Museum Parador, lovely quiet too. And great service. Food in the restaurant was Michelin star standard (respect to the chef) and we met the legend that is Ramon Palacious - the waiter who was so proud of his Parador, his region and the local cheese and cider!   My wife and I stayed for 4 nights and were impressed with all aspects of the service. Staff were all friendly and helpful, food was excellent.   Friendly service great food and amenities

  Warm welcome and everything explained to us. Lovely room which was spotlessly clean and bathroom with eco friendly shampoo etc rather than packaged soap. Dinner was good. Portions large and in fact, too big for most people so saw some waste. One evening there was a large coach party in and service was extremely slow. The next evening the coach party went in early and good service returned. Breakfast was exemplary. Fruit, cereals, hot dishes, pastries, cheese, meats…Staff were all extremely friendly and tried to accommodate our efforts at Spanish.
