Would be 5 stars if tea & coffee facilities available
13 Apr 2025
This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this hotel and the reason for 4 stars is the same as last time - no air conditioning (due to time of year) and no tea and coffee facilitiesThe hotel is lovely, we had rooms at the front do had Mountain views.Staff really niceWe did feel ignorant due to our extremely limited Spanish and we are going to try to learn Spanish before returning next yearThe location of the hotel is perfect for the football stadium and has several bars and cafes nearby

It’s wonderful to hear that our location suited your needs perfectly, especially with the proximity to the football stadium and nearby cafes and bars. We understand your comments regarding the lack of air conditioning and tea and coffee facilities. A hotel for all sorts of people.

Spotlessly clean, assorted amenities and a superb breakfast buffet where you can additionally order eggs to your liking from the chef. Pool and Sauna are always fun to meet new people, the bar is also a good meeting point with locals. A well stock supermarket is practically Nextdoor with fresh and warm baked goods at a good price. A pharmacy and local delicatessen shops and barber shop is on that same street. Parking is ample and well kept. 5 stars to the Receptionist and restaurant staff. Downtown lively spots and historic area are just a 1/2 hour away walking stroll. Worth seeing on foot.

If wifi is critical – give this four-star hotel a miss
31 May 2024
One of the mandatory requirements of a four star hotel is working wifi in every room.As journalists it's critical that we have decent wifi and hotels are only booked if they have fully working wifi guaranteed. We've been touring northern Spain, staying in a multitude of hotels - from two to three star – and so far have only experienced perfectly working wifi in every hotel. At the Silken Monumental Naranco the wifi in our room was non-existent.Sure, there's the facility to log-in, which is the first thing my partner and I do on entering a new hotel. This was achieved – on two laptop computers – and two iPhones. However on attempting to log on to the web - on any – nothing!Same with mail servers - we had limited access to mail but could not send.Trying to log into any website resulted in the systems hanging – all four the same! After wasting a couple of hours, getting absolutely nowhere, I went down to reception - where the wifi signal and web access proved to be just about perfect.Complaints to the reception desk resulting in a call from a 'techie' – but as the issue was patently the strength of signal – this proved futile. We advised reception of this, anticipating a change of room - but nothing/nada.Our only option was to work in the reception area - which we deem unacceptable.I don't know how many rooms or floors are affected by poor wifi signals, but would strongly suggest that if wifi is critical for your visit - before you accept a room at this hotel, test out the wifi. Our room was 603 - on the sixth floor.A three-night stay at the Silken Monumental wasn't a cheap option - if we visit Oviedo again it's doubtful the Silken Monumental Naranco will be on our option list.

Good hotel but with some slight adjustments could be much better
11 May 2024
We booked this hotel due to its location not far from Real Oviedo football ground. We visited Oviedo for my son’s birthday and to go to football match.Room was triple deluxe room which was large enough for the 3 of us. Bathroom was large and more than adequate. Shower very powerful. Toiletries included, including toothpaste and toothbrushes. Beds were comfortable and wardrobe large enough for what we needed. Cafe in the hotel was nice and very reasonably priced. Staff in cafe and on reception were lovely Downside - air conditioning did not work in room and when I spoke to reception they said that it had been turned on - it seems that this is centrally controlled and even though we turned room temperature down to 16 and turned fan high, we could not get the air conditioning to work which meant the room was far too hot and I slept approx 8 hours over 3 nights due to the heat.Another issue was we were shocked to discover there were no tea and coffee facilities in the room - we have never been to a hotel that did not provide tea and coffee and we found this a huge let down

Nice area to walk
04 Mar 2024
Comfortable room, nice shower setup. Bathrooms had nice makeup mirror and hairdryer. Breakfast was included, the dining room was "conference room like, without windows, but made up for it with a large tv showing beautiful scenery. We also had a group dinner here which was very good, however the room lacked ambiance. Bar off the lobby, open to all, was very nice. Part of a group trip. Ask for city map at the front desk,
