This is an honest review which I feel a bit guilty writing as we unwittingly met the owner who was so lovely and made our evening so enjoyable. However the hotel has a few flaws… 1. The spa is payable extra which was a shame after a long day of travelling.2. The facade and upkeep need ‘upkeeping’ and is tired and messy. The carpets in the bar dirty and all feels a little unclean.3. Atmosphere could be quirky or just plain strange. Positive was the breakfast! And the quality of the food in the main restaurant (not buffet) Overall we had a decent stay as the owner made our evening in the restaurant so lovely but probably wouldn’t go back….

Basically it doesn't deserve the four star rating. It might have when it was built, but it hasn't been kept up, and no longer seems to have the money.* Lovely staff - it's not their fault.* No food available a lot of the time (until 20:30!) even in the bar or room service.* No coffee or tea in the rooms.* Lights flickering and need replacement (restaurant, rooms, spa)* Obvious patched repairs on the walls.* Spa: tiles missing and broken, lots of lockers non- functional, steam room smells of mould, lights flickering.* WiFi very flaky.* One of our rooms was a twin room. It has a transparent wall into the bathroom. Not ideal for two people who are not a couple.* Welcome email arrived giving us information on the hotel facilities one day after arriving. * Gym - it had been cleaned everywhere except under and around the machines.* Apparently fresh plates and bowls at breakfast not properly cleaned.* No aircon running in shared areas.* Leaky shower in one of our rooms, spilling water out on to the bathroom floor.* Sink in one of our rooms did not drain.* For those who want golf, at the moment it looks permanently closed (which might be the reason the hotel hasn't got as much money as it did).

This has all the hallmarks of a hotel that’s in financial difficulties. It’s a relatively new hotel but the French windows have gaps round them and the shower doors don’t fit properly so every morning you follow your shower with a spell of mopping up.The fact that you can see daylight around the windows makes the insulation ineffective and the published house rule that ‘air conditioning should not be set to lower than 27 and heating not set higher than 19’ not only annoying but unachievable.They should simply give up on cooked breakfasts. The bacon was some horrible reformed stuff that neither tasted like bacon nor had a recognisable texture and the scrambled egg was obviously made from the ready mixed eggs and was made so far in advance that it had a skin on top. Nice fresh fruit saved the day because a very limited choice of cereals and bread that was bought on price rather than quality didn’t offer any reasonable possibilities.There was supposed to be a golf course but it was closed four years ago and the final straw was the swimming pool. One of the main reasons for my choice of hotel was the pictures of a really nice indoor swimming pool. We were travelling with my 7 year old granddaughter who loves to swim at least twice a day. The hotel charged €25 a time to use the pool for adults and €25 euro a time for children.Poor quality offer plus rip off pricing means that I will be avoiding this hotel in future and I strongly suggest that you avoid it too.

Don’t recommend to come all the way. The reception is super unfriendly

Don’t recommend it at all.No recomiendo!Muy mala receptionist-a! What a horrible reception!Wow what a horrible service, it’s pity. Because the place is quiet and they invested a lot for that place. I wouldn’t waste time and energy to come all the way, such an unpleasant receptionista. Que horrible servicio.

Great hotel, disappointed about restaurant

Hotel is very good, but I would not recommend the restaurant. Starter was excellent (3 langoustinas with carpaccio of viera). Then I had kind of steak, my husband had fabada asturiana. Both were not good, so we returned it after eating just a bit. We did not have to pay for this, which is OK, but like this it is not nice to go a restaurant.
