Surrounded by majestic walls, the hotel rises up following the original lines of the former 'Piedras Albas' palace, and offers every comfort in a brilliantly recovered atmosphere which preserves the monastic, devout and spiritual air that is characteristic of the city.

The hotel has 2 junior suites, 2 suites, 2 single rooms and 57 double rooms, which are located on 2 storeys and are reachable by lift. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Services such as a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service ensure a comfortable stay. Wireless internet access (for a fee) allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. A fireplace creates a cosy atmosphere. A number of shops, including a souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. Guests of the hotel are welcome to relax in the garden. Additional amenities include a TV room and a library.     Excellent hotel in walled old city. Public parking used nearby. A lovely relaxing 2 day stay.

    First we like the quirkiness of the Paradors. Often older buildings reinvented. Avila did not disappoint.We found the staff polite and efficient. Our room was large, clean and comfortable (A/C was not working or was fixed at a winter temperature). Bed was comfortable and the bathroom was fine with toiletries etc. Not a fan of showers in baths but we knew this was the norm.Breakfast was a good selection kept refreshed (hot items to order). Car Parking is available at a cost. We contacted the hotel in advance and confirmed a place would be available. However be warned the underground parking is VERY tight and may require many back and forward adjustments to get in and out.Another point is this hotel is lower down in the town so anyone with walking difficulties should be aware.Would stay again if in the area, Marisa Acebes, Otros at Parador de Avila, responded to this review DearGuest,Thank you for your kind words.     Lovely Parador - I think it used to be a Nunnery. It is built into, and part of the city walls. There is very limited parking - and you have to drive through the City walls to get to it. Well located to walk to all the attractions in Avila.The staff were pleasant and helpful. There is a small (ish) bar and lounge area and a nice dinning room. Breakfast was excellent.Nice bedroom and bathroom.There was a lot of building work going on when we were there - I think that there is a central Quadrangle but it was all covered and cornered off - so everything felt a bit like a 'rabbit warren' but I am sure it will be lovely when finished.     Be aware- Paradors are undergoing major renovations, whilst still “ welcoming” guests

    We visited this Parador in order to experience the medieval architecture of the town.We were very disappointed to discover that the Parador was in midst of mayor renovation. We had no prior warning of the building works We were particularly looking forward to the hotel gardens, however due to the building works, they were inaccessible. Large parts of the hotel were cordoned off. The hotel had a feel of being on a building site. The staff did their best in difficult circumstances In addition the air conditioner did not work.     We had an okay stay: the rooms are spacious and clean. The personnel is friendly. The hall was under construction which took away the charm of the building. The food and drinks are average and quite expensive; especially the drinks.
