  The building is in an amazing location. Right in the Gothic Quarter, maybe 15 minute gentle walk to Las Ramblas and all of the amazing restaurants in El Born.The apartment itself was spotless, a good size and the bed comfortable.Unfortunately the management company really lets it down. We arrived in Barcelona at 3pm and after a speedy airport transfer arrived at the building within half an hour. We didn’t get into our apartment until about 7-7:30pm due to the complete lack of communication from our hosts. The building is keypad/ app entry. There is nobody there to meet you. We received no communication ahead of our arrival as to what we should expect, no door code, no room number. Nothing. There’s a couple of phone numbers on the side of the building. We tried these several times to no response. Luckily, we had booked our stay through Love Holidays who helped us get to the bottom of the situation. We were put on high priority as we literally couldn’t get in the building! Eventually, after several attempts from LH, they managed to get into contact with the building management. We were given a door code. Excellent. We got into the lobby! Then after much back and forth we told them we still didn’t know what room we were supposed to be in or how to even enter. Then after a few hours Ainb got in touch with us, asked us to pay the local taxes and upon proof will send over room details. We got all of that, used the keypad on the apartment door (there’s also an app you can use but that didn’t work for us) and got into our room. As mentioned above, the room was clean, the bed comfy and I guess it was well enough equipped. Our room was a little rough round the edges- plug socket in the bathroom was left on the counter rather than in the wall where it should be, the laminate flooring wasn’t laid properly (gaps between each slat), bedside lamps didn’t work, the oven (which looked brand new!) didn’t work either.. I absolutely loved Barcelona and I want to return, but I just wouldn’t stay here again. Not only is Ainb completely disorganised and can’t send check in information in advance, they just don’t seem to care about upkeeping the place.

  1. Check in, nightmare ,there are 2 properties - not advertised 2. Staircase, could manage 1 small case at a time , closer to a ladder3. Property, broken cistern, no plug in sink, no hot water pressure Bathroom door couldn’t open properly, curtains broken, Holes in mattress protector , no towel hanging area in bathroom 4. Cleanliness, mould and dirt in shower Dust and dirt on walls and shelves5. Virtual reception, when telling of the state of the property We were told that we did book the basic room

  Waste of money and time!

  Property wasn’t as described it wasn’t even the same buliding. the pictures displayed on booking for this property are nothing like what we experienced. The room was small in fact too small for myself and my partner. there were two single bed and we asked for one double. There was heavy dust in the property, bad wiring of lights on the ceiling, panels around bathroom door hanging off, mould in the shower. there was no lift, but an extremely tight walk to the second floor up the metal spiral staircase. There was a light on all night so we struggle to sleep. We have documented the whole stay with pictures but it got to the point were we had to leave one day early. We asked for spare towels i was rudely told that they dont do that for basic apartments but they will do it on this ocasion making me feel bad for asking when it was clearly listed on itienry list on the wall that we can ask for spare towels (picture enclosed). Might i as add that once we had paied money for the room the room was changed. We only knew this 20 minutes after we piad. So i feel we were slightly mislead. Based on all this, i can not give positive review on this property because we are very unhappy.

  The only reason I gave it 1 star is because I cannot write a review without rating it at least one!The staircase is unbelievably tight!The room and shower is small.Only positives is the beds weren’t bad and there were some toiletries, but it was still a horrible experience!The worst thing is that you get NO sleep!There were fights and people screaming! Loads of pubs and very loud, drunk people kept us awake until the early morning hours (I don’t mean 1am) It was crazy! We slept with all the windows closed, but it didn’t seem to help! If there had been a fire I’m not sure we would have made it out!

  Me and my other half arrived today. On arrival it was very clear that whatever photos they have uploaded to show off the rooms are highly edited or a wizard has taken them. To look at the photos we was happy to pay what we paid, thought we would treat ourselves, but again on arrival it was very clear that we had been conned into thinking it was something it is not! Besides that, there was not even one bottle of water in the room, there was absolutely nothing. For what we paid you would expect coffee, tea, water, the usual at least, but no. Ontop of that NO HOT WATER!! Couldn’t even have a shower on our first night, all they had to say was that they would send a maintenance man over in the morning, and that was basically that. So our showeres consided of boiling a kettle and using bowls to wash with as the plug in the sink doesn’t even work. I’m sure tomorrow will bring more issues! So yes based on not even having slept here for one night, I really wouldn’t recommend this apartment/hotel/bed sit or whatever it is they want to call it!
