English- and French-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out.     The room was HUGE by European standards. Very comfortable and very clean. The shower was the best. Staff were very helpful. We were leaving too early for the included breakfast so they boxed it for us and it was delicious. Location is right in the middle of the Gothic Quarter close to a lot of tourist attractions like La Rambla.

    Perfect hotel to stay in Barcelona

    My wife and I spent seven days in Barcelona in April 2026, staying at this hotel. The hotel's location, right next to the Cathedral, is ideal for exploring the Gothic Quarter and its surroundings. The rooms are clean and cozy—with the exception of a few rooms on the first floor, where a rather noticeable hum from the restaurant equipment located below may disturb some guests' sleep. The staff is very helpful and responsive. The receptionist, Laura, displayed exceptional patience and provided us with invaluable assistance, guiding us to the hotel over the phone when our GPS navigator failed to plot a route. During our stay, she continued to assist us, answering all our questions and offering useful tips. The front desk manager, Nuria, went above and beyond—and then some—to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible, offering us the best room. A huge thank you to the entire staff—and especially to Laura and Nuria—for making our stay so enjoyable.Guests planning to arrive by car are advised to plan their route in advance; at a certain point, your GPS may suggest parking nearby and walking the rest of the way to the hotel.

    Excellent hotel in the centre of Barcelona. Close to all the sights and sounds of the city, but a peaceful and relaxing oasis when you want to shut out the world. We had a Deluxe double room at the rear of the hotel (no view but no noise either) which was spacious and well equipped with a great walk in shower in the large and well presented bathroom. The bed was comfy and the air conditioning effective (if a little bit noisy). The TV had Netflix and YouTube so you could fill a few minutes with something less depressing than CNN or BBC world (in March 2026!) during any downtime. Everything in the room and hotel worked great and was well maintained with the exception of the timber decking around the pool which needs refinishing. All the staff were fantastic, as was the free city walking tour (we did Sunday which was about the history of Barcelona). The cheese and wine at 5pm was always welcome and helped us push dinner back an hour or so. The only negative issue for us was the breakfast which we found plentiful with good quality pastries and cereals but a bit expensive and somewhat limited and repetitive after 5 nights. The cooked items were often cold and/or overcooked for our tastes (cold beans and scrambled eggs and very crispy bacon and burnt sausages). It's handy to eat in the hotel but given the central location there are plenty of local options. Overall we liked the Hotel Barcelona Cathedral and would definitely stay there again, but might opt for a superior outward facing room (no availability during our stay) but not take breakfast.

    Central Quiet Hotel

    The hotel is in a great location just a few steps away from the Cathedral in the gothic area, near to the Ramblas and metro stations. Although it was in a central location it was quiet. The hotel was very clean, we had breakfast included which was very good. The reception staff were friendly and informative helping us with our many questions. We did not use the pool area.Our only negative comment would be that when we asked about local non chain or tourist type restaurants in very close proximity to the hotel we were told there wasn't anything in fact there were a lot that we found down little streets, just what we were looking for.
