  This place is a con. It's a youth hostel pretending to be a hotel. There is no one at reception most of the time. They add extra charges for cleaning the room. And electricity. My room had one lamp which didn't even have a lightbulb in it.I wouldn't stay here even if it cost 10 euros a night.

  Tried to contact hotel prior to arrival for check in details...on arrival we had to call hotel for help as we we're stood in the street with our cases and could not access hotel. The guy on the phone was helpful,he told us to put a pin code in and open the envelope on the desk for a key...we woke up the next day to a very rude lady saying who are you and you are in the wrong room...she then turned to another couple and said 'they have your room' it was very embarrassing and degrading....there are 2 brustars down the same street so it is an easy mistake and they belong to the same people...we were told we had done it on purpose....felt unwelcome all the holiday.

  Great Location - not for elderly

  The location is great. Just few minutes from the train station. 10-15 minutes’ walk to the airport bus. We were upgraded to a better room with a small balcony and towards the street. Small bathroom. The hotel shares a reception with another hotel. Once you check out you just drop the key into a mailbox. This hotel is not recommended to elderly people, since you must walk one set of steps for the elevator (super small). The manager at the reception was super friendly and helpful!

  I booked at the Gotic, but somehow got a different room 2 blocks away. Apparently it was an upgrade, although I doubt it.Overall it was not bad, but it is just an old apartment turned into a "hotel". The facilities are outdated. The shower door was broken off, replaced with a curtain. There was no heating in the bathroom, which made it highly uncomfortable, when having 8 degrees outside during the day. One would have the common sense to install an electric radiator if the central heating is not working. By the end of day 2 the temperatures became bearable. WiFi was also very poor. A good compromise for the location, but some re-investment of the income is way overdue.

  Centrally located, Nicely decorated room.

  My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Brustar Gotic. It is in a good and central area. We were able to explore the Gothic Quarter, as well as walk to las Ramblas and Picasso Museum.We got a private room, which was nicely decorated, and had large, beautiful windows. Hotel has AC and free wifi.However, the check in process was really strange and inconvenient because we had to walk to Brustar's other location down the street in order to get a hotel employee to check us in because there was no one at the Gotic location. Also, the door knob to our hotel room became loose one day and we were trapped in our room until my husband could fix the door knob.Overall, we were happy with our stay. Hotel room was clean, cute, and in a great area.Would recommend!
