Location

The hotel is located near the famous Ramblas, in the historic centre of Barcelona, just 5 minutes on foot from the port as well as the important monuments, museums and sightseeing attractions, including the Picasso Museum, the cathedral and the Plaza Cataluna.     We came off a Cruise with Azamara, self sourced this hotel as our agent pushed us at was £400 pn, too rich for my taste, this place was central and has a good rep, rightly so, warm and friendly staff, helpful and a nice place to be. Breakfast choices were not massive but what was there was very good quality and tasty, well worth it. Rooms clean and functional, I d happily stay again... Really enjoyed all of it😁

    Lovely little hotel tucked away in the heart of the Gothic Quarter. The most helpful and friendliest hotel staff I've ever come across. Lovely clean room, very nice breakfast too. Only downside is very noisy outside from around 3 till 5 am ( local clubs kicking out i assume), nothing to do with the hotel. But to be in the heart of it, it's a sacrifice worth making. So easy to walk everywhere and hundreds of restaurants nearby. Would definitely recommend and revisit.

    This hotel is in an awesome location, close to a lot of sights and amazing restaurants. The staff was very friendly and walked me to my room to show me everything I needed to know. The hotel floor had just finished renovations so everything was new and classy. Highly recommended!

    Brilliant hotel staff were all lovely and engaging. Any time staff saw us they’d ask if we needed anything like our room cleaning or towels changing etc. Breakfast was good, it’s continental but does the job to start the day. The bed was large and comfy, the bathroom was good too and I had no problems with my sleep or noise pollution Location wise it’s very close to Las Ramblas so there’s a lot of atmosphere, whether you’re after an ice cream, a romantic meal, a drink, or a takeaway etc. A few tube stations near by as well. Only a 30 minute walk away from Barceloneta beach which is a great area.

    The California Hotel is in a great location. It is within walking distance of all the major sites in Barcelona's old city and close to the metro station. It offers a complimentary breakfast, which is very practical. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the rooms are spotless and comfortable. Two blocks from the Ramblas and a vibrant tapas bar nightlife, I would recommend the California Hotel.
