  Disappointing stay

  Upon arrival hotel looked lovely and we had an easy check in we booked the standard double room which was clean but not very big no kettle provided which I think is a basic amenity , wallpaper was peeling making the room look a little scruffy pool area is lovely and clean with a nice terrace there was approximately 14 rooms booked in our party and there were several issues experienced and none were solved we had gone as our daughter was getting married on Saturday and there was no acknowledgement of this very special occasion from the hotel or staff no congratulations to the bride and groom either which I thought was quite rude it seems guests are a bit of an inconvenience to the staff On several occasions people were stood at the bar waiting to order drinks and there was nobody behind the bar serving as I think they were constantly being called away to deal with other things all in all the special weekend was a little bit spoilt due to hotel and staff Eli Sanchez, General Manager at Hotel Catalonia Park Guell, responded to this review Dear Stephen,Thank you for sharing your experience with us.   Lied to and messed around , AVOID

  From the minute we arrived the bad experience started, firstly the guy behind reception tried to make out he couldn't find out booking then he said we have issues on one floor and we need to send you to our sister hotel,told him right away that wasn't happening we was there for a family wedding and all the family and friends were booked into that hotel,out of the blue they suddenly had a room for us which I must say was nice. Strangely I must have seen at least 50 to 75 new guests arriving , no problem with a floor then !!!Staff were not really interested and all looked liked they'd rather be anywhere than therePool was very very cold , some family members said there plunge pool was cold , the bride to be plunge pool was broke but they didn't fix it or offer to move her until complaints were made Overall I wouldn't recommend this hotel Over priced , the whole wedding was soured by this place Eli Sanchez, General Manager at Hotel Catalonia Park Guell, responded to this review Dear Nigel,We sincerely regret reading about your experience and thank you for taking the time to share it with us.   We booked this hotel because it was conveniently located near the hospital for my brother’s major surgery. Unfortunately, his operation date was changed to the following week, which was completely out of our control.When I called the hotel to explain the situation, I was really disappointed by their response. There was no understanding or flexibility at all, and we ended up losing the full amount of our booking.Given the circumstances, a bit of compassion and consideration would have gone a long way.   I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Catalonia Park Guell Hotel! From start to finish, everything exceeded my expectations.The highlight for me was the amazing breakfast – a wide variety of fresh options, from delicious pastries and fruit to hearty hot dishes. It was the perfect way to start each day in Barcelona.The gym was also a great bonus. It was clean, well-equipped, and made it easy to keep up with workouts while traveling. After exercising or sightseeing, relaxing by the pool was the best part. The pool area is peaceful, refreshing, and offers a great spot to unwind.The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location is convenient for exploring the city while still being in a quieter neighborhood.I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Barcelona and will happily stay here again!   DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. 0 stars. I’ve stayed at motels/hotels in sketchy cities that were FAR nicer than this disappointment of a place. 1. This hotel is not worth the price.2. The rooms are terrible with moldy ceilings and musty smells. 3. We told the front desk multiple times that our AC wasn’t working properly and they continued to tell us it was working even though the unit on the wall was blinking and clearly not working.4. The manager was incredibly rude to my wife who speaks fluent Spanish and was able to communicate with him. He said he went in to the room and the AC was working fine despite my wife going to the front desk in the morning with sweat dripping all over her face explaining it works for a few hours then stops working and blinks. 5. The location isn’t even that good either. We almost were willing to lose our money and book a different hotel. My wife and I will never be using this hotel chain ever again. 6. The hotel elevator can barely fit 2 people with duffle bags. If we had our actual full sized luggage, we would’ve needed to take two separate elevators. 7. They cannot control their guests. People slam doors, yell, play music, it feels like you’re at a frat house. 8. WiFi does not connect from all the rooms. We didn’t have WiFi in our room 507. 9. The bath tub overfills and doesn’t drain properly. Which the person who reviewed prior to us mentioned as well. 10. The water pressure is on and off. Sometimes very hard other times very low. The sink overflows because of the way it’s structured, and since the shower doesn’t have a full door, the entire bathroom gets wet which creates even more of a musty smell that the room already has. 11. Lastly, the breakfast was around 30 euros. Not much variety and the food was cold and not much selections. I’ve stayed at motels in other neighborhoods that weren’t safe in different countries, but even they are better than this. I’m not even being dramatic when saying this is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. We understand that there may be moments when the system needs to be restarted, and we apologize if this caused any discomfort. Regarding the bathtub, it is normal for it to fill if the tap is left running. Once the tap is closed, the water level stops rising and the drainage system works as expected. We also verified the Wi-Fi connection in the room mentioned and found no issues with signal or connectivity. We regret that other aspects of your stay were not satisfactory.
