  Rough around the edges, but, with good amenities, good city location.

  After 10 nights on a luxury cruise ship, this was a bit of a shock. However, we were not in Barcelona for 2 nights to lie around, spa-like, with cucumbers on our eyes. We were there to visit La Sagrada Familia and other areas of the city via the Bus Turisto Hop-on/Hop-on service. We just needed a clean place to stay, with a good location and some basic amenities and this apartment provided all of that. The apartment is on an alley like street in the Las Ramblas area about a 30 minute walk from the cruise ship terminal. It's a bit of a rough looking area, but it isn't. The street was cleaned by the city one of the days we were there and there are plenty of amenities in the area (cafés, convenience shops, pharmacies, etc.). We also found a terrific restaurant (Tosca del Carme) nearby where we ate twice as we found it so good. Upon arrival, we rang the door buzzer and an operator buzzed us in remotely. The self check-in kiosk wouldn't allow us to check in early, but a luggage room was made available to us, again via a buzzer and we were able to store our luggage and get out to get something to eat. Check in later went fairly smooth: navigating the automated system had a few minor glitches but we got it done. This is an old building and the stairs are narrow, so hold the rail. The apartment had adequate space for three people including two bedrooms. The bathroom is by the main door and so you must navigate 6 or so steps to get down to it from the kitchen area. There is no handrail leading from the bathroom to the upper floor area, so it's a bit tricky for a senior with decent mobility, like us, and could be dangerous for a mobility challenged person. There is a tiny elevator in the building that stops on certain floors but leaves you with steps to negotiate if you are in a certain apartment. We were in room #5 and so had to go down 6 steps to get to our door. The receptionist was present in the mornings (Danilo) and kindly arranged a taxi for us for our ride to the airport 24 hours before departure. Yes we would stay there again.

  Appalling avoid staying here !

  An absolutely appalling set of apartments, these are so bad we have reported them to the Barcelona tourist information, city council and chamber of commerce. Truly the worst place we have stayed in 35 years of vacationing. The beds are just steel framed creaky futon like things with concrete mattresses, there's a trickle of warm water that if you wash there's none left for a shower, the narrow stairs are quite hazardous, they are dank and miserable and just not appropriate for holiday accommodation, we did complain and advise with two 3 year old children warm water was a must and we're told by the management a) it's not their fault if we used a full tank if water on a wash and then couldn't shower and b) they said we were threatening them, just absolutely appalling customer service and a very aggressive attitude, straight in the attack with zero apologies. To say we are appalled is a major understatement. AVOID AT ALL COSTS there are plenty of alternatives at this budget and these people are not worthy if your hard earned holiday dollars.

  We cancel a reservation due to pandemic in MAY last year and they not only didn’t refund our money, they wouldn’t even answer our emails and the phone never worksAlso the only time they answer us, they were very rude and unkind.Avoid at all cost.

  The air conditioner doesn't work And we suffer a lotWe suffer all the night . Our children cry all the night because the heat. It was like to stay in saunaI checked the air conditioner. it is very old air conditinor and The filters were very dirty like long time no body clean them( I attached photos ) I wash them myself but it's doesn't help . It's still not work We call to the reception 3 times at the evening to complain but there is no reception in the evening and the night one woman answer and We ask her to fix the air conditioner or move us to other room but she said that she can't help at this time in the evening We talk with Kenny (the host) in the morningHe check the air conditinor and confirm us that it's not work. he told us to write e-mail to the owner.i sent my e mail to the owner about my complaint three times but he decided to ignore me and not respond to my e mailVERY BAD
