  Great Location, Lovely Staff

  Staff were so lovely and nothing was any trouble for them.The location of the hotel is fantastic with so many places to go for food and entertainment.We really appreciated that this hotel was very traditional and the building had alot of original features.Very far priced too for Barcelona which is generally more expensive this place was ideal.Would happily stay again.

  The worst hotel I have ever stayed in Europe. There were 4 of us in the room and we only had 1 face towel. The cleaning lady who was apparently also the hotel manager (so the receptionist told us) had left a note saying that we had damaged the towels because we had cleaned our faces with the body towels. Where were we supposed to find another towel to wipe our faces if the hotel didn't have any?? And what is worth noting was that we had to pay 10 euros for 1 towel and the note was for 2 damaged towels. And this is pure THEFT.We had an iron included when we booked, but in the morning the cleaner came and took it and we had to ask for it every day, for 3 days of our stay. When we checked in we spoke to the staff and we agreed that when we checked out they could keep our backpacks for 5 hours. But the moment we checked out, not only did they not hold our bags, they started talking very badly to us and even threatened to come and check our room if we had damaged anything.All this because we refused to pay for the body towels that were supposedly damaged by wiping our faces.The staff (if you can call them that) specifically the cleaning lady was the most rude and arrogant person.

  I signed up for a yoga-retreat in Barcelona and found hotel Ginebra being closest to where I needed to be. It’s on Playa Catalunya, so all the shops and redtaurants are nearby. Because some reviews referred to this hotel as more like a hostel than a hotel (ok, when you enter the hotel it does not have a fancy lobby), I was pleasantly suprised. The single room that I booked was not very big, but everything I needed was there. The queen bed was more than ok, the bathroom very clean, and most suprisingly: I could open a window without hearing any noise: amazing! And a bonus: a cosy sitting room so I could sit there instead of in my hotelroom. The staff was also super friendly and helpfull. Next time in Barcelona I will definitely choose this hotel again.

  No refund at all for cancellation

  I had booked three nights stay with free cancellation . Unfortunately I wasn’t able to stay due to illness to companion and thus I had to cancel the booking late on. I didn’t receive any email warning me the free cancellation period for booking was about to expire. I attempted to cancel nearly 48 hours before . Disappointingly the hotel has declined my request to refund me the three nights paid for or indeed refund any amount ! No doubt they resold the room and thus received double the income . It’s a very unfair practice!

  Perfect budget hotel

  Perfect budget hotel. I stayed in a single room, had a balcony looking out onto the square! One negative was housekeeping had left the balcony door open before I arrived and there were a few flies in the room. Took me 30 mins to catch/kill them before I could rest easy. Very helpful staff!
