Location

This modern luxury hotel is ideally situated at the heart of the city of Barcelona. Countless shopping and entertainment venues, as well as some of the city's best tourist sights, are within walking distance of the hotel, or can easily be reached by making use of public transport.

Facility

The holiday village has 6 junior suites, 4 suites and 135 double rooms, which are located on 6 storeys and are reachable by lift. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. A baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service are available. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional facilities include a newspaper stand. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Other services include a 24-hour security service, a babysitting service, a car hire service, medical assistance, room service, a laundry service, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. Travellers with bicycles can make use of the on-site bicycle storage area. Complimentary newspapers are available. A business centre with fax machine and projector is available.

Rooms

Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Guests can enjoy the view of the courtyard from a balcony or terrace. Rooms have a double bed, a queen-size bed, a king-size bed or a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Additional features include a refrigerator, a mini fridge and a tea/coffee station. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio, a CD player, an alarm clock and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower, a bathtub and a bidet. A hairdryer, bathrobes and a telephone are available for daily use. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. Guests can also book wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms. The complex has family rooms, non-smoking rooms and smoking rooms.

Sport

The outdoor pool complex provides invigorating refreshment. Comfortable sun loungers are available on the terrace. Refreshing drinks are served at the poolside snack bar. Leisure activities and facilities at the complex include golf, a gym, a spa, a sauna and a solarium or, for a fee, massage treatments.

Meals

Dining facilities include a restaurant, a café, a bar and a pub. Half board can be booked. A generous breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. At lunch and dinner, guests can choose between à la carte and a set menu. The holiday village also offers picnics.

    Very poor value don’t be fooled by the fancy exterior

    Don’t be fooled by the 5 star exterior this hotel feels very much a mid 3 star offer. The entrance space is unwelcoming and the reception service staff were utterly disinterested. Staff chatted instead of helping the guests. It felt like we were an inconvenience. Things didn’t get much better. Breakfast felt like a school cafeteria - completely rammed with people and unsurprisingly terrible coffee. The rooftop swimming pool was basically a ‘large bath’ and the gym was so small even two people filled it. Our balcony had chairs and a table but no sunshade - in 30 deg+ sun it was unusable for most of the day. So little thought given to the user experience. This hotel felt like a much lower quality offer but with a very high price. Overall a poor stay and I would not recommend it.     Amazing hotel, staff so thoughtful and friendly. Perfect base to explore Barcelona, able to walk to all major sights whilst being away from the tourist areas and crowds. Comfy huge beds, very clean rooms, peaceful and relaxing. Will definitely be back!     Lovely hotel with very helpful staff

    Just back from 4 nights staying at the Gran Havana and had a really good time! All the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly from the girl on reception when we first arrived, the guy who stored our bags and helped with our taxi to the airport , the cleaning staff who are always overlooked but work so hard behind the scenes they did a great job every single day, fresh towels and room cleaned and tidied for us! Great little roof top bar and seating area with pool and sunbeds which is perfect to end the day after walking miles and had great drinks! Near to gothic quarter , walkable to park guell, sagrida familia and the beach ! We didn’t have breakfast as so many coffee shops locally you can stop at on your way out!We had a comfort room which was fine for a few days quite big actually!Only couple things I’d say is the aircon seemed to be locked at 23 ish degrees which might be cold in Spain but it was quite warm to sleep as we were on the main road so noisy when opened the window and also there was no mirror by the desk so you couldn’t sit down and do hair had to be in bathroom standing!In fairness I never asked reception if they could alter the aircon for me so maybe they would have if I’d asked!Would definitely recommend this hotel :-) Helena Gracia, Atención al cliente/recepción at Gran Hotel Havana by Escampa Hotels, responded to this review Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a detailed and kind review of your stay at Gran Havana.We are truly delighted to read that you had a very good time and that you found our team helpful and friendly throughout your stay.     Great location for sightseeing. Rooms clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was limited with selection of hot food. Would have liked poached eggs or omelette.
