Location

Located only at a 10 minutes’ walk from the beach, the hotel offers stunning views of the sea and the spectacular morning rising sun. At less than 25 min from the airport, conveniently served by the Tram and metro to reach the city center in just a few stops, the hotel is also facing the largest shopping centre in Barcelona, Diagonal Mar.

Facility

The hotel has 433 non-smoking rooms, which are located on 23 storeys and are reachable by lift. The multilingual staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service, cash machine and drinks machine. Wireless internet access (no extra charge) allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Rooms

Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Most units have a sea view. All rooms are carpeted and have a double bed, a king-size bed or a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Guests will also find a tea/coffee station included among the standard features. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. Sport

The outdoor pool complex includes a children's swimming area and is ideal for working out or just relaxing. Guests can treat themselves to refreshing drinks at the poolside snack bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub. A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent. For guests who wish to keep active, tennis and basketball are available. Sport and leisure facilities at the hotel include a gym, billiards and squash. There is a wellness area with a spa, a sauna and a steam bath. Subject to charge: massage treatments.

Meals

Various dining options are available, including a restaurant (with high chairs), a café and a bar. Catering options include bed and breakfast and half board. At breakfast, guests serve themselves at the generous buffet. Various dishes can be ordered à la carte for lunch and dinner. Diet meals, gluten-free meals, vegetarian dishes and children's meals can be prepared on request. The hotel also offers special catering options. The hotel offers a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

    Great location, friendly and helpful staff

    This clean, modern Hilton hotel is in a great location, convenient to the beach, public transportation and a large mall across the street. The staff is friendly and if you have executive lounge access like we did, you'll definitely enjoy the evening appetizers and drinks. We've stayed here before and will stay here again in the future.     This hotel is not great but also not bad.

    Check in was easy. There was always security visible in the lobby area and the bellman staff were always available to assist.The location is not the best for travelers. The only thing close is a shopping mall. Everything else is a considerable distance. There are a lot of fast food options at the mall and a few sit-down options. The better restaurant options are a minimum of a 30 minute walk. If you are looking for someplace where you are walking distance from multiple food options, this is not a good choice.We had a nice room with a “water view”; however, the water is blocks away from the hotel. You cannot see a beach from the hotel but there is a marina within view. The room was in reasonable shape; however, there was obvious wear on the bed headboard and knobs for the closet. One annoyance to me was the fact that there is nothing to write on or write with in the hotel room. There is a prominent QR code for if you “need something”. The hotel does not offer bottled water and has a water and ice dispenser near the elevators.The breakfast buffet was good and offers cook to order eggs and omelets. There was a good selection for a breakfast buffet. My only complaint is that all coffee is via a coffee/expresso dispenser. Due to the processing time to make a coffee drink, the wait time at these machines could be a few minutes.The couple times that I tried to call the front desk from the room no one answered. No one answered the operator button either. Fortunately when we were ready to checkout I stumbled on a bellman in the hallway who was able to assist. The reception desk was responsive when you were in front of them; I am not sure what the issue was when I called from our room.Overall, I would not choose to stay here again when in Barcelona.     Horrible smell in the rooms and hallways

    This hotel is big and modern looking. However it has a huge problem and that is the smell. The 14th floor hallways have a very bad smell. Imagine mold and pet urine combined into one smell. That disgusting smell got into our clothes and suitcases and we insisted they give us a different room on a different floor. Luckily they did but the room still had a slight smell. For such an expensive hotel that is supposed to be modern and sleek, it is pretty dirty. There are stains on the carpets in the rooms and the windows are filthy. Honestly they should probably replace all the carpets since they look dirty and smell terrible. Also there was zero acknowledgement that we were Diamond members… I wouldn’t stay here again.     Better without lounge for the moment

    We (4 people) stayed in two room at Hilton Diagonal Mar for a 4-nights holiday this April. We booked 2 executive rooms and got a standard executive room and one really nice room with a large bathroom and a window overlooking the sea from the bathtub (2108). I genuienly have no idea if the second room was a lucky executive room or a different kind, I wasn't able to find it on the website.The breakfast was good value for money, with various options, both cold and hot, and delicious smoothies and juices.The location was wonderful, especially with the mall right across the street. If you arrive late (like we did), there are a couple of restaurants there (including Five Guys and some local options) that are open until midnight. There's a 10 minute walk to the metro station and there's also tram T4 which is very convinient. You can also walk for about an hour to the main tourist attractions. The only letdown was the lounge. The main lounge is under rennovation (which is a good thing), but the temporary lounge lacks hospitality and food options. There is a happy hour between 5 and 7 pm, we only managed to eat there twice. The first time the options were very limited, the second time it was better. However, the lounge itself closes at 8 pm, which is too early in my opinion. One time we arrived at about 7:30 for a quick glass of juice and we were hit with "there is no more food, it's too late". Of course we were too late, but there was barely anything left: no cold drinks, no nuts, no fruits... In other lounges (also Hilton hotels) we were offered at least some basic snacks outside happy hour and sometimes even asked if we'd like something extra. We felt a lack of hospitality. I would suggest either providing better service or closing the lounge until the main one reopens. Check in and check out were smooth, and despite the not so great lounge, we would be happy to stay at this hotel again!
