  Unsafe and dirty place owned by rude people

  Stayed there with a group of friends for 3 nights.While the location is pretty central, we found the place to be overpriced for what it offers, i.e.: dirty common areas (especially toilets and showers), unsafe and rude staff.Would not recommend.

  Refused to refund the booking because of an error in their system

  Booked a room, selected dates, confirmed booking. Got an e-mail receipt afterwards which had completely wrong dates. Staff refused to rectify their mistake and charged my credit card immediately, even though I offered to compromise by accepting a cheaper dorm. Don't make the mistake of booking online with this hostel.

  All the beds have curtains the whole way around, there’s a neat drawer underneath for your belongings. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. Highly recommend for solo travellers who like there own space to chill. Great location as well.

  Overpriced hostel in Barcelona with rude staff

  Had a chance to stay 3 nights at Hip Karma in Barcelona It a group of friends. While ideally located, the hostel is way overpriced for what it offers (i.e. bed and shared dirty toilets and shower). Also, we unfortunately experienced a very rude and impolite employee attitude who did not want to open our room for an obscure reason and left us wait 30 minutes in the middle of the night before agreeing to let us in - for absolutely no reason. Beyond being extremely shocking, this left us all unsafe in the Hip Karma Hostel as we would think that he could step into our room at any time with his spare key. Pretty creepy and sad indeed. I would not recommend this place for people visiting Barcelona.

  Clean, friendly staff, shame about bathrooms

  The bedrooms are really clean and the hostel is located in a good area, close to bus stops and good shops around. There's a supermarket just below as well to get items during your stay. The staff are welcoming and friendly. However the bathrooms always seem dirty, especially the toilets. You also have to pay 2 euros for the bedding.
