No air conditioning despite it being included in room facilities

    rating29 Apr 2026

The hostel was clean and tidy with the necessary facilities. However, the air conditioning was not switched on in the whole hostel despite the fact that our room was 28 degrees and the only option to cool it down was to put on the fan in the unit. When I asked about this, the reception staff said they did not put on air conditioning until May or June and that some guests had requested blankets it was so cold! In addition, the staff did not care at all and I was sharing my room with my son who had asthma and did not cope well in the overwhelming heat. If you suffer in hot weather and need air conditioning before May, do not stay here.

    Very poor and unfair treatment

    rating17 Mar 2026

Very disappointing experience. My flight was cancelled by the airline (force majeure) and I informed the hotel in advance. I even cancelled the booking early so they could resell the room.Despite providing proof, they refused any refund, hiding behind a rigid policy that makes no sense in this situation. No flexibility, no empathy, no fairness — just excuses.Be very careful booking here. If anything unexpected happens, don’t expect any support.

Great hotel and close to everything!

    rating24 Mar 2025

We went to visit our nephew and he recommended this hotel because it's a 3 minute walk to his house. When I heard the word hostel, I thought it would be bad. It's not a hostel (like North Americans think). It's a hotel! The front desk staff were very helpful and nice. We didn't eat breakfast which is offered for 6 euros because I don't eat much for breakfast. My husband went to the local bakery (there are several) and got a pastry and two coffees which we enjoyed in our room. The rooms are small but we didn't plan to spend too much time in the room. The room was very clean and the beds were amazing. I heard from other reviews that the rooms facing the road were noisy but we didn't find that at all. A five minute walk gets you to the tram. Super easy to buy the tickets before you get on. 2.65 euros for one ticket or you can buy a pass depending on how long you're staying. You can get off and transfer to the metro (you need to buy a different ticket). Everything about the transit system was super easy to maneuver. We took a taxi from the airport and paid 27 euros. However, on the way back we took the tram and the metro because it was super easy. The metro goes directly Into the airport. The area of the hotel is super nice. There are lots of shops, restaurants, bars and pathways to walk on. We found a little local bar on the same street as the hotel, close to the tram station. The people were friendly and a glass of wine was 2 euros! There are a few restaurants in this area that are amazing! First is the Chinese restaurant right next door to the hotel. The food was great. We were only in Barcelona for 4 days and ate here twice. A Vista is a restaurant that I can highly highly recommend. The food was out of this world. We had such a nice evening at this restaurant. I wrote about that separately on Trip advisor. There is also a mall about a 10 minute walk from the hotel, lots of small grocery stores, bakeries and a large grocery store near the mall. We did go into the city centre but were happy to get back to this amazing area. It just felt like home.

    Great Value

    rating15 Apr 2024

My fiancé and I (26 & 27 years old) stayed here June 22-26.The only reason I will not give this hostel 5 stars is because of the location. It is difficult to get to from the airport - we had taken a taxi as that seemed to be the best option. We had also used the busses, trams, and metro station to get into the heart of Barcelona everyday (took us about 45~ mins each way and cost about 10 euros per person per day). The area surrounding the hostel seemed safe (even around midnight) and was within walking distance to restaurants and a grocery store. The buffet had enough options for breakfast that tasted good and got us started on the right foot in the morning to go explore. They had coffee, pastries, cheese, salami, fruit, yogurt, and orange juice. Although the seating area wasn't very big, we always found a table to sit at.We had a room with 2 twin beds, and our own bathroom. Although the room was quite small, we felt it was sufficient for 2 people. Toiletries were provided, and the room was cleaned daily. Air conditioning worked well. The receptionists were friendly and helpful. We were also able to pay to have access to a safe that they keep at the reception area behind the wall - it was very unassuming if you didn't already know it was there. The Wi-Fi also worked well, and there is an elevator (although we usually took the stairs as we were on the 2nd floor).Overall, it was an excellent budget option and if you are willing to travel a little bit to get to Barcelona, it is worth it for the value.
