  Pre-Cruise Stay: Great Location Nice Room, Decent Price

  We needed a hotel for a few nights before leaving on a cruise out of Barcelona. Just needed a room for three adults, nothing fancy or expensive. Wanted to keep the price at around $200 per night. This one ended up being $213/night with everything included. The location was fantastic for what we had planned while in town. It was less than 100 meters from Placa Espana. So, the Aerobus from the airport let us off just across the street from the hotel. The five minute walk to the Placa Espana trains and metro allowed us to easily travel to the two places we wanted to go before leaving on our cruise. One day we bought our "all in" tickets at the booth in Placa Espana for Montserrat and spent most of the day there. Next day we took the Metro to Sagrada Familia. Easy and quick with only one change of metro trains. When leaving, we used an Uber Van to get to the cruise terminal. (Note - used the van because I wasn't sure three people and all the luggage would have fit into an UberX or one of the tiny taxis.) We were not very far from the cruise terminal so the cost was around $35, about he same as the cost of 2 UberX's.Our room was spacious and clean. A large bed (queen?) in one room, and single twin bed in another room. Bathroom even had a tub. That might be a first for us in Europe. Lots of closet space with a safe (ask at the desk for the key). We were on the 4th floor but seldom had to wait long for one of the two small elevators. Only caution would be when asking for suggestions on places for tapas. There are dozen of places around the hotel. But the clerk directed me to two places in the Las Arenas Shopping Centre, a former bullring just up the street. It was a little too convenient that he had cards advertising both (with Acta Azul printed on the back). They looked a bit pricey for tapas. Do you think they had an "arrangement"? We ate at the little place right next door to the hotel. it was fine.Also skipped the €9 breakfast at the hotel. Looked truly like a basic continental breakfast, no hot food and NO ESSPRESSO MACHINE. (If there was one I didn't see it.) Just stopped at a café up the street for coffee and pastries in the morningsFor the price, quality and location, I'd definitely stay there again.   Big family room (2nd floor). Good standard overall, but the bathroom had a glas door that you couldn't lock. It's not air or sound tight (like having no door at all). That was a big disappointment. Except from that, the hotel was good.   Helpful Front Desk Clerk

  Our flight home to the US was canceled after our cruise so we stayed a night in Barcelona. We were grateful to be in a safe place not in the heart of the city, but within walking distance to some of the city’s famous attractions. Sergio, the handsome front desk clerk greeted us in our morning arrival, too early to check in, but we were able to store our luggage at the hotel safely. He made arrangements for us to check in at 12:30 pm, which was well before normal check in time. He gave us a map and told us of things we could do within walking distance to fill the time. Sergio was friendly, kind, and helpful and put us at ease as we didn't expect to be there another day and didn't know how to navigate or get around the city. He spoke English well which we really appreciated. The room was clean and nice, but Sergio is the reason we give this hotel a 5 star rating.   Good and Bad

  Hotel very clean and well run. Breakfast very pleasant and staff extremely friendly. However we are a couple over the age of 70 and for 2 nights during our stay, rooms were allocated next to us, by much younger couples. I had to go to the rooms at 4am one couple then 6am for the other, on different nights, to ask them to quieten down. I would suggest the hotel be more discriminate when allocating rooms and think about the age gap.   cute small hotel, but out of the way

  myself as well as ~30 other students stayed here as a part of a summer excursion program. the hotel was in a decent location for the price, and very accessible by metro (once you familiarize yourself with the routes) . staff was friendly and rooms were mostly clean, but the mattresses we were given were thin and it was hard to sleep well. the bathroom was also quite small, and dirty when we first checked in. the elevators would often get stuck, in the case you forgot your keycard. the food was good, too, a simple breakfast with croissants and fruit. overall, this hotel is great if you're on a budget, and if you're planning to venture the city most of the day, then i say its worth checking out.
