Location

Situated in the Gothic Quarter, the hotel is a 5-minute walk from Barcelona Cathedral. Just 300 m away is Plaza Catalunya, which offers excellent bus and metro links.

Facility

4 junior suites, 3 suites, 3 single rooms and 21 double rooms are located on 7 storeys and can be reached by 2 lifts. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and currency exchange service. Wireless internet access (for a fee) is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. There are a number of shops, including a supermarket. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park. Other services include a 24-hour security service, a car hire service, medical assistance, a transfer service, room service, an alarm call service, a laundry service, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. Active guests can make use of the bicycle hire service to explore the surrounding area. A business centre with fax machine and projector is available.

Rooms

Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Guests can enjoy the view of the courtyard from a balcony or terrace. Rooms have a double bed or a king-size bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. A mini fridge and a tea/coffee station are standard features. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, an alarm clock and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Slippers are included. A hairdryer and bathrobes are available in the bathrooms, which are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. Cosmetic products and a selection of towels provide additional comfort in the bathrooms. Wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms are also available. The hotel has non-smoking rooms and smoking rooms.

Sport

The indoor and outdoor pools are ideal for exercise as well as relaxation. Refreshing drinks at the pool bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub offer the perfect way to unwind. Comfortable sun loungers are available on the terrace. Leisure activities and facilities at the hotel include a gym, callisthenics, aerobics, a spa, a sauna and a solarium or, for a fee, massage treatments. A dance club and a nightclub round out the entertainment options.

Meals

Various dining options are available, including a café and a bar. The restaurant has air conditioning and high chairs for children. At breakfast, guests serve themselves at the generous buffet. Various dishes can be ordered à la carte for lunch and dinner.

    We needed a hotel for just one night before a Mediterranean cruise and I wanted to choose something within the Hilton family because of their loyalty program. Hotel Bagues ended up being an excellent choice. The hotel and room felt quite luxurious and was very well located. The staff also went out of their way to provide us assistance. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. I would stay here again if I travel to Barcelona again.     Hotel was in great location. The staff could not have been more helpful. They were great. Helped us get tickets and a dinner reservation.     Really beautiful and quiet room; windows closed, not noise at all. Room gets totally dark at night; fantastic black-out system. Staff is honestly kind, welcoming and polite. Excellent location despite the current street works. Extra clean. Totally reasonable price. Cute and useful amenities. Super enjoyable experience. Mattresses should be longer though (personally, the only con).     Rude staff and unhelpful hotel.

    The staff were very rude and disrespectful. We brought our young child with us at the last minute. We wanted to cancel the stay, but they wouldn't let us. We checked out a day early and received no refund. This hotel is not solution-oriented; They only care about money. Hotel- cmanager, Owner at Hotel Bagues, responded to this review Dear Ms. Yıldız,Thank you for sharing your feedback.We regret that your stay did not meet your expectations; however, it is necessary to clarify several key points, as the statements made in your comments do not accurately reflect what occurred.Your reservation was confirmed for two persons, which is the maximum legal occupancy for all rooms in our hotel, in accordance with local regulations. This condition was clearly stated at the time of booking and was reiterated to you upon arrival. At check-in, two guests were registered, and you explicitly confirmed that only two persons would occupy the room.Later that same day, it was verified that three guests (one adult and two children) were staying in the room. One child had not been registered, and the presence of a third occupant was deliberately concealed despite prior explanations. This placed the hotel in a position of non-compliance with legal and safety regulations, which we cannot permit under any circumstances.Our team addressed the situation directly and professionally, explaining the available solution: booking an additional room so that all guests could be accommodated lawfully and safely. This option was declined. You then chose to leave the hotel of your own decision.As the early departure resulted from a breach of the agreed booking conditions and occupancy rules, the unused night was not refundable, in accordance with the terms of your reservation and standard hospitality practice. At no point were you “checked out” against your will, nor was access restricted for punitive reasons; all actions taken were solely to ensure legal compliance and guest safety.We categorically reject any suggestion that our policies were enforced to generate additional revenue. Our conduct was guided exclusively by lawful occupancy limits, fairness to all guests, and safety obligations.While we regret that this situation escalated, we stand by the professionalism and correctness of our team’s actions throughout your stay.Kind regards,Greg Behn, General Manager
