Location

This hotel is located near to Paseo de Gracia and La Ramblas. The surrounding area is filled with shops, boutiques, bars, restaurants and night cubs. The famous Plaça de Catalunya (1,000 m) is within walking distance of the hotel. It is a mere 3 km to the stunning white-sand beach and the airport is 15 km away.

Facility

8 suites, 21 single rooms and 71 double rooms are located on 7 storeys and can be reached by lift. The reception desk is open round the clock. A cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and currency exchange service are available. Wireless internet access (for a fee) allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. There are a number of shops as well. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park (for a fee). Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. The rooms have a king-size bed and a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested.     Great place to stay, close to everything you would want to see. Staff were excellent and helpful on restaurants. The bar makes great drinks so definitely ask for his signature drink aperol spritz.     I've stayed at this hotel for decades and watched it go from a 3 star to easily a four plus star. The location is excellent, near the Paseo de Gracia, Casa Batllo and La Pedrera and a lot of very good restaurants. The service is always exemplary - friendly, willing to help, great advice and kind. The rooms run the gamut from smaller and comfortable to the "apartments" which are large and luxurious. If you get a smaller room, if you can afford to spring for a deluxe, you'll be much happier. The apartments have a kitchen and a washer (no dryer). My room had a terrace. The bathroom was roomy and there were robes, but no slippers. The breakfast buffet is very nice and if you can get it as part of your room rate, it's worth it. Otherwise, there is a nice coffee shop type place across the street and many coffee bars nearby. There is also a supermarket next door so you can get food and drinks. I can't imagine staying at another hotel in Barcelona. The Balmes has it all.
