    Disgusting Hotel not as described

    This hotel is simply DISGUSTING the room we were given 409 was old and run down. It smelled of sewage, the furniture was all chipped, the light fittings were loose, the bath was stained, the towels were rough, the bed creaked. The tea and coffee was frugal at least the TV worked but only BBC News for English people. The breakfast was below average no cappuccino coffee, no poached eggs absolutely poor! Do not get sucked in by their old photos this hotel badly needs investment and proper management, the night receptionist did not engage and was not welcoming the only positive thing is that the common areas are clean. If you are viewing this before booking DO NOT BOOK!

    Room clean and serviceable. Bed fine. Breakfast fine. But pool not open and no outdoor sunny space to relax in, in late Feb (20 degrees n sunny outside). 😢 good tapas n vermouth to be had nearby at Cafe Tostas near CollBlanc metro.

    Barely 4 star. Positives - Very clean and friendly staff. Rooms very small, but comfortable. Quiet-Negatives. . NO SpaBreakfast poor selection- well below average 4 star. Room service menu inadequate.

    The hotel is distant from the center of the city. It is big with great lobby hall so you get great expectations once you get in. Than you get into your room and it is the real picture of your stay. Maybe it was new and shiny in the past but now it resembles the old style hotel rooms. The furniture is old and unfit for the space, it has "SPA" in the name but no bathrobes or slippers. The bathtub is old, toilet is so squeezed to washbasin set that only a tiny person can use it without getting a scratch (literally). It looks like someone wanted to put in the old space of the room more staff than it can fit. Food in the restaurant is really average for such a hotel. The staff is ok, but they cannot compensate for all the missing things.

    Spa hotel with spa out of action but otherwise ok

    Booked this through a very popular hotel booking website and they failed to mention the spa is under repairs and closed - if you go on the official hotel website it does say that this is the case but i guess thats only if you look and are booking direct - I likely wouldnt have booked if I knew this was the case.Without a spa it seems a bit overpriced for the compact rooms once you add taxes etc, but the location is good for Camp Nou and Barcelona games. and walking distance to a metro station and a half hour ride into the city centre.Staff are really good and friendly, particularly on reception - the two people I spoke to couldnt have been more helpful. The breakfast was average, although the woman doing the eggs was good.
