Location

Built in a modernist style, this hotel is extremely popular with tourists and offers guests fabulous views out over Plaza de la Boquería, which was designed by Miró.     Contrary to other reviews, we have no complaints!

    We stayed here for 2 nights in April and were concerned about the reviews here but we’re so glad we stayed there! The location really is so practical to access all areas of the city with the metro right outside and the gothic quarter a few minutes away. We arrived early and although checking wasn’t until 2pm, the receptionist was happy for us to leave our bags with them while we went to explore. When we came back later to officially check in our bags were up in our room already. We stayed in room 403 on the top floor in one of their “comfort rooms”. It looked like the photos on the website. We were worried about the noise from the restaurant on the first floor and the noise of building works outside, but neither interfered during our stay at all. The room was really well sound proofed and had brilliant blackout blinds. The bed was comfy and the shower was boiling hot with good pressure. No issues at all around noise or water temperature. The breakfast was included when we paid and was a good variety of foods brought over on a plate (croissant, jamón, cheese, avocado, omelette, butter, jam, a satsuma, small sliced baguette, juice and coffee). Overall given the varied reviews we were pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed our stay. I’d definitely book again if we went back and would request the same room on the top floor to negate the other concerns around noise.

    Run As Far As You Can Away From This Hotel

    Our travel agent booked this hotel for us through Air Canada Vacations who should be ashamed to be affiliated with this deplorable hotel. The room has very little to no air conditioning and for a menopausal woman having hot flashes, AC in July is a must! The room is very old, extremely dirty. The shower and bathroom are dirty, inadequate and just gross. The floors are so dirty to that when you get a shower then walk across the room your feet are dirty again. There are flies in the bathroom. The stairs and hallways are dated and dirty. The front entrance is unwelcoming, way too small (as several people had to wait in the doorway and could not access the desk due to others checking in). The only good thing about this hotel is the location and the wifi actually works. There are so many beautiful hotels along the Ramblas and connecting streets, please do not put yourself through what we have had to endure and book elsewhere!

    Avoid this place - Pictures don't match the truth

    The website does not accurately reflect what you will find when you show up at this hotel. For the price, there are surely better places to stay in Barcelona. We even went looking at nearby hotels to move but everything around us was booked. The bathroom was disgusting, the lobby and the public areas are nothing like what's described. The finishes and trim were falling apart, and the manager could not have been more rude or disrespectful.

    The receptionist named Nino Rosace was very rude, demeaning, arrogant, doesn’t practice customer service at all. Instead of helping us to solve our problem regarding our reservation, he told us that he doesn’t care if we stay outside. He closed the door of the hotel for us instead of talking with humility and be helpful. Don’t go to this place because you will just definitely ruin your stay in Barcelona. It’s the worst hotel I’ve ever been because of this person named Nino. He even said he was the manager but we found out later that he was not. Definitely a big liar. Don’t trust this person ever. And he was even smoking while talking to us. So disrespectful to customers. Don’t ever consider this place to stay. I don’t wanna give even 1 star. If there was a 0 star I would be 100% rate it 0.
