This hotel is to be found in the gothic quarter at the heart of Barcelona, close to the cathedral and the Picasso Museum. At the heart of the tourist area and not far from the inner city, plenty of shops as well as restaurants and bars/pubs are within walking distance, only 20 metres away. Located within 50 metres of the hotel, several nightclubs provide evening entertainment. Situated 1 kilometre away, the beach is easily within walking distance of the hotel or are may be reached by making use of the extensive public transport network (departs from stops directly in front of the hotel).

    Terrible bed and no coffee making facilities

    We are on our third day of our stay at this hotel. Despite its good location, right next to the cathedral the rooms are not great. As you might expect from city centre hotels rooms are very small with little light from the small window. However what lets the room down is the fact that the wardrobe is so small the clothes hangers have to be turned sideways. Easier to hang clothes outside of the wardrobe. No coffee making facilities which is extremely unusual for any hotel of any standard nowadays but by far the worst thing is the bed. It is a tiny double but the mattress squeaks every time you move in it so I have had absolutely no sleep for the first two nights!!!!     Just returned from a 3 night stay with my wife and daughter. Everything was perfect - fantastic location, easily reachable from the airport with a train / metro trip. We returned to the airport by taxi as it was early morning and there was a constant stream of taxis passing by the main road in front of the hotel. Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby and the Gothic Quarter was great. The rooms were made up daily and the level of cleanliness was exceptional. If I return to Barcelona I would not hesitate to stay again.     We had a very positive experience at Hotel Suizo.The standout feature is definitely the location — it’s excellent. Being right in the heart of the city made it easy to explore everything on foot, with plenty of restaurants, shops, and attractions nearby. It’s an ideal base if you want to make the most of your time in Barcelona.The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Our room had everything we needed for a city break, and the beds were comfortable after long days of sightseeing. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, which always makes a difference.Overall, a great choice if you’re looking for a well-located, comfortable hotel at good value.     Great hotel, would highly recommend. We stayed at this hotel in December 2025 for 4 nights and in honesty it was far better than what we expected for the money we payed. The hotel is excellently located right next to a metro station in the middle of the gothic quarter and only a very short stroll along the shop lined alleys from La rambla. Check in was straight forward with excellent English speaking friendly reception staff. Our room overlooked a busy side road with a lovely balcony. It was great being able to see and hear Barcelona life at Christmas while once your balcony doors and curtains were closed the room was very quiet and dark. The room was very clean and modern with comfortable beds and excellent walk in shower. Free safe (ask at reception and leave small returnable deposit for key) nice cold mini fridge to stock yourself and good air conditioning/ heater. The small breakfast room was never crowded and had a lovely ambiance with excellent views over the neighbouring area. Breakfast had plenty of selection and again hotel staff were helpful and pleasant. Sometimes the reception and lower hotel stairs smelt “old” but this is because the hotel is very old but not reflective of the modern rooms which always smelt fresh and clean with daily cleaning, bed making, towels. I have visited Barcelona many times and stopped in everything from large 4 star hotels to small expensive boutique hotels. This was neither but I could not fault this hotel for price, location, facilities or staff. Will visit this hotel again and highly recommend.
