    Just back from a wonderful 2 night stay at the Hotel Indigo Barcelona - Plaza Catalunya! We were slightly early but were warmly greeted by the front desk who allowed us to sit by the pool in the courtyard and suggested we have a room service lunch and cocktail while we waited for room to be ready! Thank you Leo, great idea!We had a six floor room with a lovely large balcony (with loungers!) overlooking the courtyard and neighboring apartments. Splendid! We did experience the slow elevators since we were on the 6th floor but the room and view were worth the wait.The location, friendly service and smallish size of the hotel make it an attractive choice when traveling to Barcelona. Breakfast buffet was also very exxtensive and tasty! We will come again.     When we first got here the hotel room just looked dirty, seats in the terrace were so gross you can’t sit on them. The gym is super small and really nothing but a few broken rusted machines. No coffee down stairs just a crappy coffee machine in your room. Called for laundry to be taken and no one ever showed up. Definitely the worst hotel I’ve stayed at in Europe.     Confirmed Reservation means nothing!

    Booked a room at Hotel Indigo Catalunya three months in advance through IHG with a guaranteed reservation.On arrival, I was told my booking had been cancelled due to a failed payment—despite my card being valid and recently used at another IHG hotel.No prior notice, no attempt to contact me, and no help from reception—just told to find another hotel.Completely unacceptable. A “guaranteed reservation” clearly means nothing here.     A very nice mid budget hotel - which felt better than the price point

    Great location for city, comfortable room with high end feel, everywhere was very clean and room made up daily if you want. Breakfast was a good selection of most things you might want (rather strange take on English breakfast bacon and sausages but was tasty enough) staff were friendly, professional and attentive. Minor criticisms; pool water is really too cold for comfortable use - felt like 50°F; and lifts are very slow - annoyingly so. All in all we would definitely come here again having stayed 7 comfortable nights with little cause for complaint.
