Do not stay if you want 4 star treatment

    rating07 May 2026

Hotel looks lovely on the inside however on late arrival the staff and their customer service or lack of I should say and I am a receptionist myself was a disgrace. No greeting at all. Demanded passports wanted deposit and tax paid on arrival at the desk. We had to change the room and floor as the noise from Feria de abril was so bad and was still bad in the new room we didn’t get a lot of sleep. The hotel should inform guest beforehand of these festivals or carnivals. Bare minimum in rooms re coffee tea toilet rolls. Left waiting for cards to be rebooted when there were four staff three doing nothing and the other serving a customer. Overall not a four star experience more 2 or 3 star. Overpriced and although the pool area was lovely was very small and no options to get a bed by the pool as so few The owners should consider getting better windows for the noise and get training for their staff. People save up to get away from work and this is not how they should be treated. Some staff in the bar were lovely. Hotel Manager, Owner at Leonardo Royal Hotel Barcelona Forum, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your review. We’re pleased our bar staff left a favorable impression despite other challenges. We apologize for the noise disruptions and service inconsistencies you encountered. Our team is committed to enhancing both communication about local events and responsiveness during peak times, as reflected in your feedback. We look forward to welcoming you very soon.Best regards,Estel·la FarréHotel Manager Leonardo Royal Barcelona Forum

Not as advertised, disappointing is an understatement…

    rating03 May 2026

Our three-night stay at Leonardo Royal Hotel Barcelona Forum fell well below expectations and was handled poorly throughout. From arrival, the service set the tone: the receptionist was rude and dismissive, and I was refused access to the room despite clearly explaining that my sister’s card was on file. Instead of a professional approach, we were treated with unnecessary suspicion. The most serious issue occurred on our second night, when water began leaking from the ceiling of our room. We were unable to sleep for most of the night. A refund for that night was requested and refused. The justification given—a room change and free breakfast—was not appropriate. Being moved rooms in the middle of the night is not compensation, it is the minimum response to an unacceptable situation, and the breakfast offered was not even used.Breakfast itself reflected the same low standard: food being cleared before the advertised closing time, limited availability, and poor quality. What is most concerning is not just the issues themselves, but how they were handled. A hotel presenting itself as high-quality should not have basic maintenance failures of this kind, and certainly should not dismiss reasonable requests for compensation.Overall, this is an average hotel at best, with service and standards that do not match its claims. I would not return or recommend it. Hotel Manager, Owner at Leonardo Royal Hotel Barcelona Forum, responded to this review Thank you for the time you have taken to review your stay. The maintenance issue and service shortcomings you described are being addressed as priorities. While room relocation addressed immediate safety concerns, we understand compensation expectations were not met. Our leadership team is examining both the incident response and guest recovery processes.Breakfast service standards you highlighted are crucial to us. We’ve initiated staff refreshers on timing and presentation to better align with guest expectationsBest Regards,Estel·la FarréHotel Manager Leonardo Royal Barcelona Forum

    Disappointing Service for the Price

    rating02 May 2026

Very disappointing experience overall and not what we expected given the price level of this hotel. We spent around €300 on drinks during our visit and approximately €550 on the hotel, so expectations for service and hospitality were high. Unfortunately, the experience did not match this at all. From the beginning, the service felt unwelcoming and lacking basic customer care. When we asked the manager for recommendations on stronger drinks and food options, instead of helpful suggestions, we were met with dismissive and uncooperative attitudes. It created an uncomfortable atmosphere rather than a relaxed or enjoyable one.Small requests, such as playing music from a phone, were also handled in a very strict and unfriendly manner, which added to the feeling that guests were not really welcome to enjoy their time freely.Overall, staff interaction throughout our stay felt rude, unaccommodating, and lacking in basic hospitality standards. For a venue in this price range, we expected professionalism, friendliness, and a willingness to assist guests ,none of which we consistently experienced. This hotel has potential due to its location and pricing level, but the service and guest treatment seriously need improvement. At the moment, it does not deliver the level of experience that matches what is being charged. The manager was the main point of contact during these issues, but the situation was not resolved, which significantly impacted the overall experience. Hotel Manager, Owner at Leonardo Royal Hotel Barcelona Forum, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time sharing your honest feedback regarding your recent stay with us.Guest satisfaction is our top priority, and we are truly sorry to learn that we did not meet your expectations on this occasion. Please allow us to clarify that our property follows strict guidelines regarding behavior and dress code, including the restriction of playing music in public areas, in order to ensure the comfort and wellbeing of all our guests. We have already shared your feedback with our management team so that we can review the situation and explore possible improvements to our services.Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. Your comments are invaluable in helping us enhance the quality of our guest experience.Best regards,Estel·la Farré Hotel Manager Leonardo Royal Barcelona Forum

    Disappointed. Not worth the price

    rating04 Apr 2026

Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the PriceUnfortunately, our stay at the Leonardo Hotel in Barcelona was somewhat disappointing and not great value for money given what's on offer. The rooms and hallways were uncomfortably hot throughout our stay, and the room itself felt quite dated and in need of a refresh. For the price point, we expected a much higher standard.Breakfast, while offering an impressively wide selection, comes at an extortionate cost that is simply not justified. We'd strongly recommend seeking out one of Barcelona's many excellent local cafés instead. To make matters worse, check-in was a painfully slow process with an excessively long wait, seemingly due to insufficient staffing levels. Visiting over Easter weekend, a busy holiday period, you would expect the hotel to be adequately prepared – unfortunately that was not the case.Overall, we would not recommend the Leonardo Hotel Barcelona. There are far better options in the city that offer more comfort and value for your money. Hotel Manager, Owner at Leonardo Royal Hotel Barcelona Forum, responded to this review Dear Guest, We are grateful to you for taking the time to review your experience. We are pleased to hear that you appreciated the variety of our breakfast selection, which aims to cater to diverse preferences with options including gluten-free, lactose-free, and vegan choices. That said, we sincerely regret that certain aspects of your experience did not meet the standards we strive to uphold. Our team is continuously working to streamline check-in procedures, especially during peak periods, and we appreciate your understanding as we address these opportunities for improvement. While our rooms are designed with a focus on practical comfort and natural light, we acknowledge your comments and will take them into consideration as part of ongoing evaluations. We look forward to welcoming you back on a future occasion.
