    Excellent service (David) and top food (nice fuet sandwich), the same with the rest of the tapas I tried and an excellent coffee. A real good surprise.

    Major issues and disappointing stay

    We stayed at Aparthotel Mariano Cubi in December 2025. During our stay, a major water leak from the ceiling made our room unusable, and we had to move apartments around 9 pm. Only one staff member was on duty, so we received no assistance with the move.Additionally, the fridge in the original room was faulty, causing all our stored food to spoil. The staff was polite and offered free breakfast, which we did not use.Overall, the hotel is old and in poor condition. The rooms and kitchen facilities are generally disappointing, and the issues we experienced caused a significant disruption, especially traveling with a 5-month-old baby.Management refused any compensation for the inconvenience, which we found very disappointing.

    Absolutely loved this hotel.The location was perfect — short walk to public transportation and not too far from the main sights, yet set on a quiet street so no noise carried into the room. The neighbourhood itself is lovely, with plenty of great restaurants within walking distance.The room was stylish, spacious, spotless and, as mentioned, quiet.Breakfast was a bit average, and the pastries were a slight letdown as they tasted more store-bought than homemade. Still, the buffet offered a good variety, and we found several things we genuinely enjoyed.Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel for its good price-quality ratio, its calm yet convenient location, and the friendly service at reception.     Mariano Cubi Aparthotel is situated in a very nice area, near lots of cafes, delis and restaurants. About a fifteen minute walk from Catalunya de Rambla which is a beautiful street with lots of shops and restaurants and at the bottom is the Placa de Catalunya. About a ten min walk from the aparthotel is a metro and access to buses etc. There is also a supermarket a one minute walk from the entrance.I will list the pros and cons that we experienced ProsLovely reception area, our flight landed early and we were able to leave our bags in their secure room until check in, same again at check out.Our room was ready early and we got in at 2pm.Large room for a family of four with a well equipped kitchenette, double bed and a pull out sofa bed with two singles.Rooms were cleaned every day, with fresh towels/extra loo roll.ConsIt is a very very noisy aparthotel. All doors have to be slammed in order to shut which you can hear all night long.Although we were a distance from the lift, again this could be heard all night.Walls must be paper thin as we could hear conversations from other rooms.No balcony as advertised.Overall it is a nice aparthotel, in a good location, clean enough with plenty of space for us.     Well situated hotel, very friendly staff.

    The hotel was perfectly situated for cafes, restaurants and bars and lovely walks around the city. The staff were very friendly but we got 2 double rooms instead of a double and a twin and it took a while to sort it. Our room had a faulty fridge door, a bathroom door that didn’t close and a room door that had to be slammed from the outside to close tightly.
