  Failed our expectations

  BEWARE Yes, a flat screen TV is in the room. Yes, the staff speak English. However, this is no English speaking transmission available on the TV. On our first day we spoke with the staff, including Silvia, the Manager, about our wanting English speaking transmission. We were told that it is possible to mirror content from our personal devices. Silvia went on to explain that she was not able to help us because we had Apple devices. We understood that no one could help us. She did not mention that other staff members could have helped us. Nor did Silvia follow up to send anyone else. We stayed at Midtown Apartments for 13 days. Everyday, as we passed through the lobby, we mentioned our disappointment in not having English speaking transmission available. The staff, while otherwise friendly and efficient, apologized noting that there was nothing they could do. Finally, after writing a note on day 10 requesting a financial adjustment for the lack of television, Silvia had someone reach out on Day 11 to help set the mirror ability. Waiting so long to help us was infuriating. We had our young grandchildren with us. My husband had limited mobility from a back injury. Not having English speaking television severely hampered our stay. We chose Midtown Apartments because of the previous reviews and implied high end amenities. Unfortunately, it failed our expectations. During that conversation, I explained that Apple devices (iOS) have additional security layers and firewalls, which can sometimes interfere with certain connections—including VPNs or mirroring features. That’s why I wanted to ensure you had all the support needed to resolve any potential issues.Regarding English-speaking TV channels, I personally explained how our mirroring system works, which allows guests to stream content from their personal devices directly to the TV. I assured you that if I couldn’t resolve the setup myself, I would immediately arrange for another staff member to assist you and ensure everything was working properly. I invited you to contact us at so we could come up and help set it up whenever it was convenient for you. My intention was always to provide a solution that met your needs.We regret not following up more proactively afterward. Since mirroring is usually a simple process that many guests manage independently, we assumed the issue had been resolved. However, as soon as we received your email, we reached out multiple times to offer assistance. We understand that you declined these offers at the time, and we sincerely regret that we couldn’t help you sooner.We truly apologize for any frustration this situation caused, especially given your husband’s mobility limitations and your grandchildren’s stay.   Great location and amazing apartment

  We stayed for five nights in April - two adults and two kids (14 and 11). We stayed in a two bedroom apartment which was huge. The apartment was fantastic. Amazing location. Two bathrooms, plenty of wardrobe space, comfortable living space and comfortable beds. We had a wee bit of noise but the windows are great and kept most of the street noise out. Great air con. The kids loved the rooftop pool which was a bit chilly (it is April!). Friendly, helpful staff. The water pressure isn't great and it takes about 10mins for warm water to come through for a shower. The TV system should be better given the cost per night, There were no apps like Netflix, Disney, NOW or Prime. With two kids having the option to watch a movie together would have been appreciated. You can't even cast to the TV. It felt quite outdated. Highly recommend El Mercat and the Indian restaurant which are nearby.   Perfect Stay in Barcelona!The location is unbeatable for sightseeing. Our room was fantastic, featuring an incredibly comfy bed that made sleep easy after long walks.   A great base to explore Barcelona. Apartment was super clean and spacious. We booked late so had a 1 bed with children ages 9 and 11. The kids had the sofa bed, which made a lot of noise, but that is really the only criticism I have. The place is in a great location walkable to lots of the sights, shopping, groceries, cafes and restaurants. We ordered room service one night which was also great. The apartment has everything you need to get started including nespresso machine and a kit for cleaning / washing up and little cooking bits such as salt, pepper, oil etc. the kitchen had everything you would need. We only stayed 3 nights but would’ve been happy there for longer. We put the heat on a couple of times which was really efficient and the big doors largely soundproofed the street below. El Mercat next door looked great for tapas but sadly we didn’t book and couldn’t get in. I would 100% recommend midtown for a stay in Barcelona and looking forward to returning one day.
