This family-friendly city hotel is located next to Plaza Espana, the Fira de Barcelona fairgrounds and the Palacio de Congresos congress centre. Other important sites close to this hotel include the Olympic facilities on Montjuïc and the Sants main train station. The city's excellent transportation network means that guests can reach the city centre very quickly. The business hotel is particularly well-suited to the needs of business travellers, but due to its excellent location it is also ideal for tourists, with the castle and park of Montjuïc, the Poble Espanyol, Montjuïc's magical fontains, Miró Museum and Caixa Forum Museum all nearby. Guests will find restaurants, bars, nightlife and a metro station within a few minutes' walk of the conference hotel and L'Illa and its shops is 2 km away. El Prat de Llobregat airport is around 10 km away.

Facility

80 double rooms are located on 6 storeys and can be reached by 2 lifts. Guests are warmly welcomed by English- and French-speaking staff at the 24-hour reception desk in the lobby. Check-in/check-out service is available round the clock. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and drinks machine.     This hotel is in a great location with plenty to see and do within walking distance as well as being close to the railway and airport bus. Pleasant staff, smooth check in and room seemed fine. Bathroom was lovely with a fantastic shower....oh, but the constant noise!!!??I have never experienced anything like it in a hotel!! Arrived late afternoon and hoped for a short rest, but above me was a loud scraping noise, as if metal bedsteads were being pulled back and forth across the floor.It did eventually stop and after reading reviews,I thought it must have been cleaners and that perhaps my room on the 4th floor was below the pool and they were rearranging rows of sun loungers. This wasn't the case. I had read that previous complaints had not had results and as my friend checked us out, he said there were more people at reception making the same complaint. The same scraping noise, returned repeatedly over the weekend and for me, would sadly be enough to put me off staying here again, which is such a shame, because it was a great hotel in every other respect.     WE CANNOT SLEEP!

    WE CANNOT SLEEP! I am currently staying at the hotel. They start cleaning from the early morning and they move the furniture. The noise is so loud it's impossible to not wake up.We have a headache every day for not sleeping well. I mentioned it to the reception and they didn't do anything I had to go find the cleaning lady myself and complain. I will never come back and I don't recommend this hotel.     An excellent base for exploring Barcelona and Spain.

    I chose Hotel Onix Fira as a base for exploring Barcelona and Spain. It is close to both the bus and train stations, making it a convenient choice. The hotel is located right next to Montjuïc and Plaça d’Espanya, and nearby is one of the best pizzerias in Barcelona, Mama Pizzeria. The rooms are spacious, breakfast is good, and there is a small pool on the top floor, which is not for use and serves more as decoration. All in all, this hotel comes highly recommended.     Pleasant staff. Nice room. Rather challenging if you have any sensitivity to fragrances.

    The breakfast was good. The bed was comfortable. The housemaids were efficient. The staff and receptionists were pleasant. Yet, if you have a sensitivity to fragrances, avoid this hotel. The ground floor and mezzanine were unscented, but the scent in the room was uncomfortably noticeable and was quite strong in the unventilated hallways of the upper floors. Also, the air conditioning in our room did not work and the hotel was unable to fix that while we were there. Hopefully they have remedied that. Fortunately we had a balcony and could get air circulating that way during our stay. If fragrance doesn't bother you at all it may be a pleasant place to stay, but the strong fragrance was a challenge for us. , Owner at Onix Fira, responded to this review Dear guest,Thank you for sharing your experience.     Underwhelmed with our stay though some bright spots exist. Arrival- they graciously allowed us to check in early after our overnight flight. The room was clean with a pleasant small balcony but the bathroom had a musty smell which mostly dissipated with the sliding door open to the street. The fact that the bed had only sheets should have been a sign, but the interior temp never got lower than the outdoor temp snd in the evenings was actually warmer than outside. The wall temp control didn’t have any connection to the functioning of the climate and on bringing the matter to the attention of the staff they said they had addressed the issue and we must keep the door closed. Upon our return we sat through hours of warm temps waiting to see any effect but to no avail. In short, the room was warmer than allowed comfortable sleep, and no fan. Outdoor noise with the door open was a compromise, but with the fireworks of a holiday not a pleasant one. Breakfast was great with warm and cold items, fresh fruit and dairy and non dairy options. I thought the pool might be good to refresh, but it is barely bigger than a tub and not open after 8, so it got no further use from us.
