Location

The hotel stands on Barcelona's main commercial and business thoroughfare, Rambla de Catalunya. The building is just a few metres away from some of the most popular tourist sights, such as Plaça Catalunya, Passeig de Gràcia and La Pedrera (Casa Milà). Not far from the hotel, guests can find the metro stations Passeig de Gràcia and Plaça Catalunya, as well as bus stops for different city and intercity lines and the Aerobus (direct shuttle service to Barcelona Airport), all of which guarantee easy access to all parts of the city.

Facility

The hotel welcomes guests in a 5-storey building with 2 lifts and 40 non-smoking rooms. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel offers various facilities for guests with disabilities.     Avoid if you want to sleep and receive customer service

    The toilet in my room was broken, and water kept leaking from the cistern, making a constant, very annoying noise. Even with the bathroom door closed, the noise could be heard in bed, making it impossible to sleep. The first night, I arrived late and very tired, so I didn't say anything. In the morning, I reported the problem to reception and asked if they could fix it. They nodded as if they knew about the problem, and assured me a technician would fix it. I returned at 6:00 PM, and the noise was still there. I went back to reception, and they told me they knew nothing about it, that the technician had already gone home, and that they would fix it the next day. I mentioned that I needed to sleep. They said they would send housekeeping. I returned after dinner, late in the evening, and the noise was still there as before. I went back to reception to ask if they had earplugs. They said no, and that they would send someone the next day. I mentioned again that I wanted to sleep. The response was: I'm not a technician, I can't do anything. I received no apology from any of the three people I reported the problem to. The problem remained unresolved, resulting in two sleepless nights. Avoid.

    I really enjoyed staying here. The location was perfect (near a bunch of lines to all the areas of the city, and within walking distance of two of Gaudí's pieces). The hotel was quite comfortable. I had a room on the front along the street, and though there was street noise on the weekend, the blackout curtains did a decent job of blocking the noise. The pool was pretty small and had odd hours (closed at 8pm!), but I had a great stay.

    I cannot understand the negative reviews of this hotel. We have just returned having spent a very enjoyable 5 night stay at the Onix Rambla. We received a very friendly welcome at reception from the lovely Ximena, explaining all the hotel facilities, and she also gave us very helpful information about the area. She gave us a map, clearly marking the hotel location, and pointed out the popular tourist attractions. Our room was on the fourth floor, with a small balcony overlooking La Ramblas. The room was spacious, clean, with extra large bed (as requested), mini bar, TV, good size bathroom with excellent shower. Considering there are restaurants and bars on the street below, we heard very little noise. Breakfast is served on the first floor which also opens onto a terrace. The breakfast is buffet style, coffee machines, fruit juices, cereals, meats, cheeses, eggs, bacon, bread for toasting, pastries, yoghurts and fresh fruit. Something for everyone. Even a choice of milk. There is a small pool on the rooftop, although we didn't use it. The hotel is in an excellent location on La Ramblas, and is no more than 30 minutes walk in any direction to the popular attractions, such as Sagrada Familia, Casa Batllo, the Gothic Quarter. Attractions a bit further away can be easily reached by using the Barcelona City Tour hop-on/hop-off bus, a great way to see the city. Tip: if you are visiting at this time of year, make sure you book tickets on-line, in advance before travelling, for the major attractions. Unfortunately we couldn't get in Sagrada Familia as it was fully booked well into the following week. Finally, thank you to all the staff, we have no hesitation in recommending the Onix Rambla. We will definitely book this hotel again when we return to Barcelona in the future.

    Excellent support for the receptionist Ms. Ximena

    I arrived at the hotel early morning on Wed. May 22nd 2024, to find out that I made a mistake on my booking date and the hotel was fully booked.Ms. Ximena the receptionist was so helpful to let me find another hotel and gave access to the internet.Her support was also extended to guide me to find a Taxi, and information about the public transportation system in Barcelona.Ms. Ximena, I really appreciate your effort and help.... THANK YOU.Muhsen MUFLEH

    So bad. I spend 2000€ and got a treble service. Never again. Not even for free. The hotel staff are racists. Don't go there. 1. Bad breakfast in the basement. (11£)2. Very very unpleasant staff. 3. The rooms have broken stuff im it, like the shower and the window. Not clean and no one come to clean.4. It is center, but many drunk homeless ppl just infront of the hotel, its a side street from the main (much nicer street).5. The "manger" (a 25-27 years old boy) moved me from a room to room almost every day. Half a day in Barcelona was busy with that, only because he cant run a place right). The top was when he forgot to book me a day so i needed to go for one day in another hotel and come back after.6. Same "manger" make a racist comment on me and my ppl when i said i am not getting a good service.7. Still didn't get my money back for the time i didnt stay or any compensation.Very very bad.
