    Walkable location, fun decor, comfortable rooms

    We love the Room Mate hotels and the Gerard didn’t disappoint. The staff were all so friendly, the property had a roof top terrace that we used twice to unwind at the end of the day. Big points for the honesty bar including Free Damm - I could have a zero alcohol, gluten free beer while winding down!We included breakfast in our booking and it was delicious. Cheeses, meats, vegetables, fresh fruits, yogurts and a selection of hot dishes plus fresh bread and pastries. We were happily surprised to be upgraded to a room with a balcony when we checked in. The only slight disappointment was the “fitness centre” which was a small room with some dumbbells and cardio equipment. I opted to pay a drop in around the corner at a fully equipped gym - plus we walked everywhere. The hotel is centrally located and very walkable.     We were fortunate enough to receive an upgrade on check in. We had a huge room with a seating area and plenty of space for our cases as well as a huge walk in shower. Whilst the dark decor wasn’t to our taste, the room was immaculately clean and also very quiet. The location is also great for exploring Barcelona. We’d have no hesitation in staying here again.     I am staying in Room mate collection Gerard hotel in Barcelona .Unfortunately, I had a very bad situation with the front office manger  tonight Sep.27 , time 21:20.Early morning when i left the hotel,I talked to front desk to leave a note to house keeping to change the bed cover, because I spilled a coffee on it.I even left a written note to till the maid about it.When I came back to my room, I found that nothing happened, bed sheets not changed, I called the reception, I can't remember his name, but ,the guy who answered me,said ,he is the duty manager, I asked him about the sheets changing, he did not apologize, he didn't try to explain, he careless, said that tomorrow, they will change it,I nervously didn't accept his behavior, then,he hung up on me. IMAGINE THAT.I went down to talk to him,he said,if you don't like it, find another hotel.My husband call for coffee capsules, because they didn't put new ones, he told him to come down to pick it up.
