    Very basic, awful soundproofing

    We had booked the Sunotel junior. When we arrived we were directed around the corner to check in at Sunotel Astor. Our room was in a different part of the hotel which was like a maze of halls to get to. The first room was like a prison cell, small, awful decor and peeling paint in the bathroom. It was right next to the lift and the noise was horrendous. I asked to move and this was accommodated. We were further away from the lift but OMG the noise was so loud we were kept awake all night by the noise of the lift and outside noise. The rooms are very basic and in desperate need of upgrading. The wallpaper is bubbling and old. The bed was very comfortable which was good, the bathroom is tiny but the water pressure was good. We had breakfast twice and it was decent for the price. The pool area is basic but sufficient. Staff at reception were nice but when we asked for suggestions one fay for brunch we were told they did not know as they personally did not eat brunch. You kind of expect the staff at a hotel to have food recommendations on tap for guests even as a suggestion.
