    Top class Hotel

    rating05 Apr 2026

My husband & I with our 2 adult children arrived early & were able to check in immediately. Hotel was warm without being uncomfortably hot. Fine size family room. Mattress was fantastic for my back as I’ve back issues. The shower had super pressure. 10 euros to the town by taxi. I’d recommend JF Murphy’s pub, Great food, open fire, great Guinness & v friendly staff. The Fields Bar had a guy playing Daniel O Malley, fantastic singer. Drink prices in Athenry are v reasonable. Huge gym here so our children really enjoyed that. Breakfast was fantastic, great selection of food. Relaxed atmosphere. Thanks to all the staff, each & everyone we met were v friendly & helpful.

Great, clean and comfortable hotel with lots of facilities in a good location!

    rating01 Apr 2026

We booked a 2night stay at short notice and were surprised of the good deal we got. With a 10&12 year old in tow we got a very spacious family room with 2 double beds. The room was great and very comfortable and clean. No view but we didnt mind as it stated it on our booking. The whole hotel had a great atmosphere and was lovely decorated and very clean! The pool area was one of the best I had seen in a hotel; with a big heated (!!!) pool(lanes and plenty of space), a small one for younger kids, a great whirlpool and a steam room and sauna. Again this area was very clean! Pool opening hours were 6.30am-10pm daily with kids needing to vacate pool at 7pm. This gave great options to use pool and its facilities! It had an indoor play area for younger kids which looked great. Ours were a bit too big for it but up to 10years it looked really good. For a few euros children could use this facility. Also the hotel had a restaurant and bar which was very comfortable and cosy. Parking was right outside the hotel. The hotel had a great location (ca 15min from Galway), can also be accessed by train in Athenry or straight drive on one of the main roads. Also great for visiting the Burren, Connemara, Cliffs of Moher. So much to see and do around. The staff at the reception, in the bar and in the breakfast room were all just soo lovely, chatty and helpful, it made you really feel welcome and looked after!! The Hotel had little easter treats for the children which were such a lovely thought. We had a great stay and would definitely stay again if we are staying in that area.

    Very unfriendly staff!

    rating01 Apr 2026

We stopped in this hotel on our way to Galway a few weeks ago to charge our car. We decided to have some lunch but the food was very overpriced and disappointing! We are on our way to Galway again and stopped here to use the chargers (and needed a toilet break). However as we went in, we were told by a very unfriendly staff member that under no circumstances could we use the toilet if we did not order anything! Note to anyone using the chargers… stop for food somewhere else and steer clear of this hotel… very rude staff… would it kill you to let us use the toilet… On our way to Galway crossing our legs😂…Welcome to Ireland!!

    Excellence

Upon arrival, I was greeted by Julie, whom had exceptional warmth and enthusiasm ☺️ who briefed me on the hotel layout and facilities. The room was excellent, I really love the smoking friendly balcony straight off from the room 👌went to dinner 2x nights and both nights the young waitress (i have forgotten her name) :( had fantastic attention to detail and a great prowess on the restaurant floor 😎 this hotel is worthy of its 4* rating.
