    rating14 May 2026

I went on the 17 of April and they told me that I booked an female only room and that they would refund me the next day. It is now 15 of may and they are not responding to the 12 emails I send, 20 what'sapp messages I have sent and don't pick up the phone and I called them like 40 times now. Absolutely horrible customer service I don't recommend staying here at all if you have the chance book somewhere else!!!

    Predatory behaviour

    rating07 Jan 2026

The TOC properties are generally excellently run, supported by outstanding staff across different locations- TOC Barcelona (Facundo)- TOC Sevilla (Maria)‼️ TOC Barcelona – Serious IncidentAt TOC Barcelona, an intern named Ali made sexual propositions & subsequently used a method involving his finger to covertly unlock my private room door & enter without consent. I spoke firmly & persuaded him to leave. However, he re-entered a second time using the same method. He only left when I stated that CCTV cameras would have captured his actions.Such sexually predatory behaviour cannot be condoned- not in tourism, not in any industry, & not in any part of the world. It is criminal.Who would stay in a property made unsafe by such predatory staff???

Highly recommended, feels like a hotel with dorm bed options

    rating11 Nov 2025

The hostel is well located being only a couple of minutes walk from a metro station. Easy to get to an airport bus. The 8 bed dorms are well designed with each bed having a light, charging point and spaces to place items. The steps up the ladder are wide enough to place your whole foot, and the is a pole to hold on to making it easy to climb in and out of the top bunk. The area at the end of the room has a locker for each bed - lockers able to store even a large suitcase ( bring your own padlock ). The lockers even have a pole and one hanger inside which is handy. This area has stools and a lamp at the side if the locker meaning someone in that area can put on light without having to put on an overhead light and disturbing everyone. The layout is practical and well designed. The shared toilets and shower rooms are in the corridor. They are modern and clean and sufficient that I was never waiting. A logistical problem occurs in that there is no separation of wet and dry in the shower cubical : imagine what it is like to undress , shower and dress all within a standard sized shower cubicle with only one hook. You will need to bring some kind of waterproof bag to hold your belongings and be able to dress with trying to prevent your clothes from getting wet on the floor and walls. This seems to be a design flaw in what is otherwise a well thought out hostel design. There are two shower rooms next to each other and it would be nice if they could be clearly labeled as male and female so the space outside the cubicle could be utilized when changing. The doors have the label showers in big white letters on a background that is a photograph: it took me three days to notice that the photos have male or female on them which perhaps indicates it is supposed to be for different genders - this is ambiguous, not notable as it is not expected as and I did come across males in the shower room with a photograph of a women. I did not make a fuss as I had been in what may be the male one before noticing what is in the photograph. My suggestion would be proper labeling. Laundry costs £9 for a wash and dry. There is only one washer and one drier meaning there were a few times I wanted to do my laundry and it was occupied. The kitchen is large and includes seating in this area. The kitchen is popular with people cooking; it is well equipped with regards to pots, pans and dishes, however lacks utensils which can make preparing food tricky, I had to prepare fried eggs using a fork to flip them. Difficult to find knives, forks and spoons to eat with. fortunately I travel with my own fork and spoon. There is 24 hour reception, bar, common room, patio, swimming pool, security doors making it feel more like a hotel rather than hostel. Modern and safe feel. Highly recommended.

Fantastic staff, prime location, comfy beds. Major downsides: no privacy curtains in dorms & showers need shelves for dr

    rating03 Nov 2025

Stepping into TOC Hostel, I was immediately struck by the promise of a proper night's rest, thanks to their wonderfully comfortable beds, each paired with a secure, personal locker to safely stow my belongings. For a mere 2.5 euros, they offered the convenience of a fresh, fluffy towel, eliminating the usual backpacker's dilemma. The entryway was particularly impressive, setting a tone of modern, welcoming style that felt more boutique than basic, and I was especially pleased to see it was equipped with ramps and clear accommodations for wheelchairs, a truly forward-thinking approach to inclusive travel. The private bathrooms were a genuine highlight, offering a spa-like retreat with their clean, modern fixtures and a design that guaranteed complete privacy and comfort. This stands in wonderful contrast to the standard shared showers, which presented a significant logistical challenge with their glaring lack of a dry shelf or hook, desperately needing a dedicated space to keep my clothes and toiletries from getting drenched.Without a doubt, I absolutely loved the location, which placed me right in the vibrant heart of the city, with everything I wanted to see and do just a short stroll away. A delightful surprise was the food pool room, a kind of nice social hub where the concept of sharing a meal seamlessly blended with a casual game of pool. It's clear the hostel is packed with thoughtful amenities designed to make a traveler's stay effortless. Once again, the staff happened to be the establishment's greatest asset, transforming my stay with their incredible warmth and eagerness to assist; I truly loved their unwavering helpfulness with every question I posed. The sleeping pods were a marvel of modern travel design, each bed equipped with its own personal power outlet, a lifesaver for keeping my phone charged and within reach. In a sun-drenched, bustling city like Barcelona, it was an absolute godsend to have powerful air conditioning providing a cool, serene oasis from the heat. The bedding itself was a delight—nice, clean, and crisp, promising a hygienic and cozy retreat. Furthermore, having individual chargers and personal reading lights ingeniously built right into the sleeping area felt like the pinnacle of thoughtful hostel planning. However, one glaring downside dramatically impacted my sleep: the complete and utter lack of privacy. The absence of any curtains in the mixed-gender dorms simply does not work, creating an environment that feels exposed and uncomfortably public. Beyond just privacy, those flimsy curtains offer a crucial bit of sound buffering from the inevitable snorers, creating a visual and auditory barrier. If the hostel is committed to a no-curtain policy, then at the very least, they should provide complimentary ear plugs or offer them for a small sale at the front desk. Ultimately, the lack of curtains isn't solely about personal privacy; it's also about the disruptive glare of a roommate's personal light bothering everyone else trying to sleep in the shared darkness.

    Unsafe for women

    rating03 Aug 2025

I was threatened by a member of staff (Oli) with assault and sexual assault after the hostel tried to overcharge me and he walked into on me and my friends getting changed in the women’s only dorm.
