    Nice hotel to look at but not up to standard

    I stayed at the hotel with my 13 year old son at the beginning of October for 4 nights. Reported the A/C wasn’t working and it was never fixed, this ultimately spoiled our stay in the room.All pools are freezing cold, not what we expect from a 5 star establishment. Breakfast was poor and almost exactly the same day after day. Food overall was not of 5 star standard. Disappointed as we are Barceló regulars and this did not meet our expectations.     I loved every minute of our stay in this great Hotel. We had a wonderful time, very relaxing and close to may beautiful places like Altea and Calpe.     A nice stay for a short break

    A lovely, gorgeous hotel if you’re looking for off-season peace and quiet. There is not much to do around this hotel so 4 days was just the right amount for us. Benidorm is the nearest town for nightlife- make of that what you will. Food and staff both equally as nice. I can see in high season how it would be hectic in the bar/restaurant as they are small, but again, enough for us for the time of year we went. Rooms was brilliant (but no kettle/coffee machines, which you’d normally get in a 5*). No big deal though. Overall a great stay. However one thing to note which was not made clear when booking, there is a rooftop bar (both here and at nucia hills which guests can use) which is “open” during the day but the bar is empty - no one is there, so why would you use it? Also, apparently it is only in use Fridays and Saturday nights (neither of which we stayed) so that was disappointing as of course you book hotels based on what it has. Also, no sun lounger beds inside the pool which are advertised. Really minor issues but overall a lovely stay to stay as a couple to recharge for a few days. We would go to a Barcelò again.
