    Tired, confusing and pretty awful

    rating27 Apr 2026

I booked a “premium” room… it was dated and had lots of maintenance issues. The air con didn’t work. I phoned reception, the engineer came, and said there was a water leak. No offer to move rooms. I complained via email shortly after my stay and Inés Darder accused me of not having reported it. I’ve replied and they haven’t even had the decency to respond. Stay somewhere else. Hotel Manager, Owner at Melia Villaitana, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We regret that your room did not meet expectations, as we regularly maintain our accommodations to uphold comfort standards. Our team responds to maintenance requests promptly, though room changes depend on availability and seasonal demands. We take all guest communications seriously and are reviewing our internal processes to ensure thorough follow-up.We hope that you will allow us the opportunity of providing you with an improved stay in future. Best regards,Guest Experience Team

Terrible coffee and service, good golf

    rating24 Apr 2026

The mattresses are sagged to one site.At arrival they tell you about all the ammenities and 5 restaurants; they don’t tell you that all services at the 12 pools are closed and the restaurants are closed most of the time. There were large blood stains on a corridor after a party, 4 days later they were still there. There is total lack of personnel and supervision. This hotel has the worst coffee I have tasted in my 80 years, the coffee beans are burned, not toasted. The golf course is great. Hotel Manager, Owner at Melia Villaitana, responded to this review Dear Sir, We appreciate the time you have taken to provide us with your opinion of your stay. We're pleased your time on our Nicklaus Design golf courses met expectations. We regret the coffee quality didn't meet standards, and we're reinforcing barista training protocols. Pool services indeed follow seasonal schedules as communicated during check-in. The corridor incident required specialized cleaning, which we completed as soon as materials arrived.Housekeeping schedules have been reviewed to prevent supervision gaps. Our mattress replacement program rotates stock regularly, with immediate replacements available upon request. We look forward to welcoming you again. Best regards,Guest Experience Team

    Solid 4 star

    rating26 Feb 2026

We stayed here for 10 nights and really enjoyed ourselves. Here are some of the tricky bits:We Struggled to find breakfast. Wandered around and around. A member of the kitchen staff pointed and gave instructions and we continued to get lost. We saw him again and he looked annoyed that we hadn’t found it. He then waved his arms and gave us new instructions. We still were lost. Eventually a very nice woman from the hotel physically took us to the breakfast area. You have to walk outside the back area of the hotel, pass the fountain area then go down a winding set of steps directly in front of you. The restaurant is there. Our beds were Single beds. I requested at the front desk for it to be made into a king size bed but it wasn’t done until day 4 when I chased reception again. One of Robes hanging up in our room had makeup on the collar. It clearly wasn’t clean which was very surprising. I asked at reception for a new one. It never came. We just gave up on that. There were occasional smell of drains in the bathroom but by the afternoon it would go. There were a few very tiny ants that seemed to come up from the sink but it wasn’t horrendous. Parking is not free unless you park in the car park below the hotel. It’s only a 3 minute walk. The Spa is not owned by the hotel. You can only go for one hour and it is €25 per person. You must have a swim hat and flip flops. Bearing in mind how much we paid, it seems wholly reasonable that the hotel bear the costs for the Level guests to include the spa and parking. The spa was in fact closed for 5 days whilst we were there which was very disappointing. I had really been looking forward to using the sauna each day. Our room (510) was quiet and had a great view of the golf course and partial sea view. The only occasion when it wasn’t quiet was the occasion when a Screaming drunk Spanish woman came into the hallway at 3am with a large group. 510 has a fabulous view of the sunrise however by 12 the sun will have moved around the building so you won’t get sun on your balcony. The coffee at breakfast is not good and the water is not very hot. On to the Positives Very large rooms with lots of cupboard & drawer space and -big plus -an iron and ironing board! Breakfast is really great (except the coffee). The fruit is truly wonderful, there is a whole range of different foods to enjoy. The breakfast staff work really hard to get the tables cleared and ready for the next guestsThe grounds are kept up with Attractive planting. The heated outdoor pool was a real delight. No one told us but towels can be obtained at the main reception. The free drinks and snacks were provided at the Level Lounge. We really enjoyed that perk. The only issue was at around 5pm they would bring out some snacks but some of them appeared to be defrosted. They were cold and very wet, ie pieces of quiche, frittata, mini pizza. This was most unpleasant. There are always crisps, selection of different nuts, and raisins Plus wines and beers and some mixers available. There is Good WiFi everywhere at the hotel. There are 2 fully equipped gyms. They are brilliant if you like to use the gym. This is a solid 4 star hotel. Hotel Manager, Owner at Melia Villaitana, responded to this review Dear Sir, Thank you for sharing your experience with us.We are delighted that you enjoyed the diverse gastronomic experiences at breakfast, particularly our selection of fresh fruits and international dishes.Your kind words about the efficient service provided by our breakfast team and the peaceful view from your room overlooking the golf course are greatly appreciated. It’s wonderful to hear that the spacious room storage and amenities like the iron contributed positively to your stay.We regret the challenges you faced locating our breakfast area and have taken note to improve signage for future guests. Please accept our apologies for the delay in adjusting your bed configuration and the oversight regarding the robe cleanliness, which does not reflect our usual service culture standards.Your feedback on the spa access and lounge snacks has been shared with the relevant teams to refine our offerings. We’re thrilled that the heated outdoor pool and well-equipped gyms added energy to your stay, and that The Level Lounge’s perks enhanced your experience. Our team takes pride in maintaining the lush grounds, and we’re glad they provided a serene backdrop for your visit. We look forward to welcoming you back again for an improved experience. Kind regards,Guest Experience Team

The Level is definitely a recommendation for anyone staying just outside Benidorm - a fabulous resort.

    rating04 Jan 2026

Fabulous resort just outside of Benidorm. We stayed at The Level and had a large room with terrace and access to the lounge for snacks and drinks including alcohol. Our bedroom included a seating area, a dressing area and robe and slippers with Rituals amenities in the bathroom. The complex was amazing included a spa / gym area and sits on a golf course. We walked into Benidorm that took about an hour with wide and safe footpaths. We had a half-board package and this was definitely a great option as breakfast had so much choice with fresh produce and an egg station. Dinner included lots of choice and fresh meat / fish station. Hotel Manager, Owner at Melia Villaitana, responded to this review Dear Madam,It is a pleasure to receive your positive feedback following your recent stay.We are thrilled to hear that your stay at The Level met your expectations, offering you spacious accommodations and exclusive lounge access. It brings us joy to know our Mediterranean-inspired design and premium amenities, such as the Rituals bathroom products and plush robes, contributed to your comfort.
