This hotel is situated at the heart of the tourist centre of Benidorm, only minutes away from the centre of the city. The surrounding area is full of shops, boutiques, cafés, a diverse nightlife, bars and restaurants. Playa de Levante beach is around 800 m. Alicante airport is approximately 65 km away.

Facility

The hotel has 48 single rooms and 408 double rooms, which are located on 12 storeys and are reachable by lift. English-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are a number of shops, including a supermarket and souvenir shop. The grounds of the hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden.     Enjoyed our 7 night stay. Room was ok and cleaned every day. Excellent location. Lifts could be a problem at times. Plenty choice of food but just warm so use the microwave. Day entertainment was very good. great entertainment team. Excellent evening shows 9 to 10 then 10 to 11 then 12.00 karaoke. Was always asked for feedback. Staff and Rep always very friendly and helpful. Met some lovely people. Would stay again. Rob & Gill from Peterborough. England.     Hotel in a great area between old and new town but !!!

    This is our second visit to the Rio park, we came back due to getting a good deal and hoping previous issues were just the room we had but unfortunately we won’t be back.There are lots of positives to this hotel1 - the hotel is in a great position. 10 min walk to beach, easy 5 min walk to the market. It is situated right in the middle of Benidorm between old and new town, 15 min walk to indoor market and also dove park in old town and in a quiet area a short walk from the main bars. 2-alway enough sun beds. 3 - food is lovely, always something for everyone, themed nights, even when busy the dinning room is relaxed. At times food can be a little cold but there are microwaves to heat up food. 4- rooms a good size, and housekeepers come in every day. But there are a few things that will stop us coming back and we also spoke to gentlemen that had been coming for years and will now be looking for another hotel. The negatives1 - showers , there is not much pressure which we could put up with and we have been on the 7 th floor and 5 th floor, but the temperature is dangerous- the showers go from boiling hot to freezing frequently and very quickly! Just be careful if you have children they could get scalded as the temp changes very quickly . 2- air con is non existent, it’s been in the high 20s all week and the air con just does not seem to cope with it, we ended up putting a magnet in the patio doors as when you open them it switches off the air con and found having the door open and air con on made it bearable to sleep in. 3 wifi- if wifi in your room is essential look for another hotel, no wifi in any room we have been in, it picks it up for a couple of seconds the looses it again, good wifi signal at the pool and reception. 3 check in, be prepared to wait till around 1500, both times rooms were not ready till nearer 3 , and that was everyone being told this when checking in, the reception has a luggage room but this fills up quickly as does a lot of the reception as there are so many waiting on their room even though it states check in is 1400 Hopefully the hotel can sort this out as the hotel is in a perfect area of Benidorm . We did ask reception for help with negatives but no difference.     Arrived Saturday 25th April - 2nd May. Couldn't get into room until late afternoon. Room adjoining scenic view lifts. Never heard anything like it screeching and banging continuously. When to reception to change room, sorry hotel is full come back Monday. Went Monday sorry come back Tuesday. Went Tuesday to find new arrivals queuing from reception to outside and down the yellow brick road. No chance of reaching reception till late afternoon. Now 4th day of a 7 day holiday. Thinking now to move would need to pack cases, move room, unpack, for the sake of having Wednesday and Thursday noise free to pack again Friday for early morning flight Saturday. The noise really got to us as could hear it in our room and balcony from 7.00 till 22.00 at night. The room was dirty even empty sugar packet and dust from previous clients at the back of the curtains. Shower repeatedly burning hot then cold someone will get scalded. The food cold when asked why to be told there's a microwave over there. Then there was an awful bug that had been in the hotel from February now May!!!! Family in bed for two days with sickness and diarrhoea. Men's toilet floor was covered in diareaha where the poor person could not make it to the toilet in time. Stayed here a few times but never again. Really gone down bank.     We arrived at Rio Park at 11 am, room not ready until 2pm went to bar to wait and have a drink , Rafa served us i gave him a 20Euro note he gave me change of a 10euro, when i realised the prices ,i went back to complain they said they would check cctv i said please do i will wait here ! they gave me a ten euro note, we had been in the hotel for less than an hour , a good start to the holiday, but it got better, we had a room with a pool view, plenty of shampoo body wash etc in room TV has BBC1, 2, ITV so no problem keeping up with the news Kettle and cups in room but tea sugar milk an extra 3.50 euro per day We had a drink package 4euro per person per day but you can only use it in the dining room !! food good but warm food put on cold plates, but 2 microwaves there not used very often ! no dress code !, entertainment good most of the staff excellent Hotel 15 mins from sea Guest Service Manager, Other at Medplaya Hotel Rio Park, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for taking the time to share your review regarding your stay with us at the Rio Park.We are sorry for the confusion you experienced shortly after arrival regarding the change at the bar, although we are pleased to hear that the matter was resolved promptly.It is great to know that you enjoyed various aspects of your stay, including the pool view room, the in-room facilities, the entertainment programme, and the friendliness of most of our staff.
