  Hotel could be lovely, the rooms are fine, basic but clean, although a little tired in areas. Take your own tea and coffee making facilities otherwise you are charged €3.50 per day for this to be replenished. This is also the same withe the towels in the room - if you want them changed you have to pay. We only stayed 4 days so this wasn't an issue for us. The pool area is ok, although the pool was freezing cold. The pool is in the shade the majority of the day which may explain why it is so cold. The sunbeds are very uncomfortable and not adjustable so you are laid down and not able to sit. Staff we didn't find very friendly, warm or inviting. Check in wasn't welcoming and I could see why some other reviews have mentioned that staff were rude.The biggest negative of the holiday was the food. We are not fussy eaters but we found the food inedible with limited choice. The food stations are very spread out so you find yourself walking around with your plates from one side of the dining area to the other. About 1 hour before the end of service, no fresh food is brought out so if you decide to eat later you are left with whatever the leftovers. Food is left out for ages and becomes dry I.e. the pasta was curled up and crispy. There are no drinks with your evening meal unless you pay, this includes water. We decided to eat out after giving the food a try for two evenings. Luckily the location is in an ideal spot which is quiet and within walking distance to the old town and nightlife. If you are looking for a 'base' for a couple of days then I would say the hotel is fine, but I couldn't imagine a full holiday here

  First Stay At The Rio Park Hotel

  Retiree couple's first stay at The Rio Park, We stayed for 10 days, last few days of September first week of October 2026. Check in was very quick as there was just us 2 and no problem using the lift.The room was a good size and cleaned daily with a small but sufficient sized fridge, air conditioning that worked well and a balcony with city and mountain views but a shame most of the view blocked because front of balcony fitted with frosted glass, it would have been nice if clear glass or something less intrusive had been fitted.The whole hotel was kept clean also.The restaurant had a good variety of salads and well cooked and well presented food, regularly replenished and quite hot, catering to mainly English/British taste. with themed nights e.g. Asian, Italian, show cooking with Sunday roast, steak etc. A selection of puddings even apple crumble, rice pudding and ice creams. so surely something for anyone. With very reasonable priced alcoholic drinks, a pint of San Miguel at 3euro and house wine 2.75euro for a medium size glass of, white, red or rose. as of October 2026, served at your table.One thing I appreciated the chairs in the restaurant had a nylon or some other pad fitted to the bottom of the legs so we were not assaulted a cacophony of screeching as people dragged chairs around as we have had at other hotels, so full marks there.Swimming pool area with a pool bar for snacks and drinks, ice creams etc. plenty of sunbeds without a grand national start first thing in the morning claiming a sunbed. Although we were there later in the year the hotel was still busy, without a lot of children so fairly noise free.Entertainment in the evening was as good anything else on offer outside the hotel with bar prices the same 3euros a pint, 2.75euros a medium glass of wine. A happy hour 5pm to 6pm. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays a 2 for one on certain drinks.Overall we had a comfortable, enjoyable stay, close to bars, supermarket and a very nice pie shop with freshly baked pies, bread, baguettes made on the premisesThe only disturbance we had was one night people came in late 2.30 a.m with them disrespectfully talking loudly and not going straight to their rooms. This was not the hotels fault, but would not stop us returning to this hotel on our next visit to Benidorm and I would recommend Rio Park Hotel to our friends and family.   Outdated Hotel

  Location: Good location as was a short walk from the beach, shops and bars.Rooms:The rooms were alright. The shower only had shampoo and body wash so you need to supply your own conditioner! But they were clean. Food: The food was fantastic. The best thing about the hotel was the food. The variety and quality was good and I always had something to eat. Veggie options good too!Staff: The only interaction I had with staff was negative. The man checking people in for dinner was very rude to us regarding taking bottles into breakfast/dinner. We were going to fill them up as there was nowhere in the entire hotel that you could fill your water up. The man that was working in the baggage room nearly broke our electricals in our bags! Pool:The pool was shocking. It was very outdated and the sunbeds were falling apart. They didn’t even sit up. The sunbeds down at the beach were better. The pool times from 11-4pm was ridiculous. It’s not a long time at all to spend at the pool and the sun would peak at 4pm with no way to cool down! Also the lifeguard put a barrier around the pool at quarter to 4 which was very strange? Overall, I wouldn’t recommend. The food was great but that’s about it. I wouldn’t go back.   Not perfect but fine

  Stayed 3 nights.Room was fine. Several British TV channels. Shower worked well, with shower gel and shampoo dispensers. Safe is 4 euro a night but feeling waived for TUI package guests.Feels a bit tight you have to pay 5 euro to change bathroom towels ('for environmental' reasons....)Food was also fine - entrecote steaks, roast pork etc. Also nice salads and puddings.Good breakfast choice.Staff were helpful.Minor imperfections are that the pool was only open 1100 to 1600.Also we couldn't take up the '3 drinks for 5 euro' package because it's only available for stay over 4 nights.As others have noted the wait for lifts gets irksome.Less than 10 minutes walk to beach and main drag of bars including Neptunes and Western Tavern.Weather a bit mixed for us - mid 20's but quite a lot of cloud and it rained one evening and drizzled much of our last morning.
