My stay at Hotel Mesón del Cid was a delightful experience in a truly prime location.The hotel has a beautiful antique, old-world style and is maintained to an exceptional standard of cleanliness. The rooms were spotless, with crisp, immaculate bedding, and the views are simply lovely. Reception was warm and professional, and breakfast was excellent.However, there are some practical aspects to consider. Parking opposite the hotel is extremely, extremely difficult. In reality, it is only suitable for a very small car — something the size of a Mini or a very small Volkswagen. The entrance and exit is the same and are genuinely challenging, with an exceptionally tight turning space, and manoeuvring in and out feels like a mission. It is easy to see how larger vehicles could be damaged due to the minimal turning radius.Additionally, although the rooms appear to have heating controls, the heating never switched off during my stay. The system ran constantly, and despite attempts to turn it off, the room remained persistently and uncomfortably warm. There is no kettle in the room, sound insulation is limited, so corridor and neighbouring room noise can be heard.Overall, the hotel offers charm, elegance, and impeccable cleanliness in the heart of Burgos, though guests arriving by car or sensitive to room temperature may wish to take note.

Excellent location. The room was wide enough and very clean. Comfortable bed, fast internet connection, very good bathroom. Kind staff, good breakfast.Excellent parking, located just in front of the hotel.

We were given a room facing the cathedral. At night the illuminated church was visible from our bed. Attentive service, friendly people, great breakfast buffet.

Reviews on this hotel are very deceptive. The pictures are taken with wide angle lenses and when you get in the room, it’s very small. There’s no air-conditioning. There are very few amenities. The staff is barely helpful. The bathroom is very small and no place to put your shaving kit or toiletries. shower is very poor quality in the water flows out onto the floor very easily. it’s very noisy at night since you’re right above the square. The rooms are Spartan and outdated. There was no restaurant available at the time May 17 2025. I would not recommend this to anyone. I was amazed to see the high reviews for this place.

Burgos hotel overlooking the cathedral

We stayed here for two nights just because of its quality and location, returning back from Hornillos del Camino which had very little accommodation.The whole facility here in Burgos was exceptional and overlooked the Cathedral which was just fantastic and it is right in the town centre
