Great location, friendly receptionists, surprisingly good restaurant.

Booked for 3 nights to view the total eclipse. Prices (everywhere) were extremely high, but decided to stay at The Silken Gran Teatro since the hotel had a car park and good location. We managed to park in the hotel car park, which is very challenging due to the limited space and tight corners to manoeuvre. Although spaces cannot be reserved, once you get a space then there will be a space for the remainder of your stay. Warm welcome received from the reception staff who were trying very hard to resolve issues with the Wifi. One reviewer (who stayed at the same time) has mentioned that Apple product users should not stay at the hotel. I have an iPhone and once the issue was resolved I had no problems connecting. We appreciated an upgrade to a Lux room, at no extra cost, however we had paid a massive premium due to the eclipse! The room was spacious with two armchairs and a view of trees and the park. There was even a pair of solar glasses provided. Considering it was a Lux room, I was surprised there were no bathrobes or slippers provided. We had an evening meal in the restaurant which was very good - it was probably one of the best meals on our whole trip in France and Spain. Main criticisms would be an efficient (but unfriendly member of staff at breakfast), the lack of soft close doors on the cupboards in the restaurant - the banging became increasingly annoying as crockery was put away by the staff. Similarly the doors to the kitchen need attention - they kept banging every time staff went through. Although there were a number of tour groups staying it didn't affect the breakfast service - a number of event rooms were used which meant there was always a table available for the non-tour guests.

If you have an iPhone, stay some place else. There is a significant process to connect an iPhone or iPad to the internet. I would never stay here again.

Lovely hotel and we appreciated the free upgrade. Nicest room I have ever had at any hotel! I’ve lived in smaller flats! This place would have been an easy 5 stars if the bar had better times.

Huge price for less services

if you make the mistake of booking the room directly at the reception, you will be surprised that the price is almost double compared to booking.com. and the parking is not included in the price, you will have to pay separately for parking. the bar opens only at 8 am, if you are a morning person, you will not be able to serve a coffee. the bathroom does not excel in cleanliness. if your car is more towards the limousine class, you will have problems with the underground parking which is very cramped, great care. otherwise the staff is ok Ana De Pedro Pascual, General Manager at Hotel Silken Gran Teatro, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. Lovely hotel. Great location in a Burgos. Efficient service and good food for breakfast and lunch. Comfortable room with spacious bathroom room. Bed linens and mattress very comfortable.
