  Friendly but not very dog friendly

  Good location, friendly staff but the restaurant staff refused to allow us to eat inside which meant we had to eat outside in mid February in the rain - not great considering we’d paid a supplement Juan Torres, Director General at Gran Hotel Don Manuel, responded to this review Dear MachirBay.Thank you for your stay and feedback. We are sorry about the bad weather and the need of having the dinner outside because your dog. We try to do our best to get all our customers comfortable and there are some of them don't like to have dogs at the restaurant while they are eating.   A very pleasant stay in a nice 4* hotel while travelling to the Algarve

  Gran Hotel Don ManuelDespite some bad luck, with the weather due to storm “Joseph/Kirsten”, which limited our time to explore Cáceres, we truly enjoyed our stay at Gran Hotel Don Manuel.The hotel garage was easy to find by simply following the signs, and from the moment we arrived, the reception staff made us feel very welcome. Our room was comfortable and quiet, with an excellent bed that ensured a great night’s sleep. A small addition, such as a proper coffee machine (e.g. Nespresso), would make the experience even better.The restaurant and bar had a lovely, lively atmosphere and were clearly popular with locals, which added to the charm. The cheese platter was outstanding. Breakfast was a real highlight: extensive, high-quality, and with the option to order freshly prepared eggs just the way you like them.Overall, this hotel offered a very pleasant and relaxing stay, and we would happily return—hopefully next time with better weather to fully enjoy Cáceres.   Nice hotel 5 minute walk from the old town. Underground car park a plus but extra 15 euros Spacious room (309) but problem with aircon as room very warm and had to sleep with window open.   Large and clean rooms, centrally located, ample and spacious parking on site and very friendly front desk.
