A beautifully and sensitively renovated building within a 5 minute walk of the stunning, underrated, refreshingly uncommercialised and uncrowded old town of Trujillo. Such places in Europe are extremely rare. The parador where we spent 4 nights has all modern conveniences, eg. quiet aircon (needed in a hot September), swimming pool and room safe boxes, whilst respecting its historical origins. It has an authentic charm.Our ‘superior’ room and shower room had plain but perfect decor, spacious, spotlessly clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast buffet had hot and plentiful cold options and dinner was good. The car park was tight but free parking in the immediately adjacent streets was never a problem. Warning! Prison windows that can't be opened! Now, 50 % of the reason guests choose Paradores are the often magnificent VIEWS from the rooms. Since the hotels are often rebuilt monasteries or castles built a bit above town you can sip your coffee looking down on the cute village. But when you book a Superior Room with balcony on Parador de Trujillo, you get - this. So skip this scam if you're claustrophobiv. Two days in Trujillo

We chose to stay at the Parador in Trujillo as we enjoy staying at the Paradors in Spain. It was in the perfect location and walking distance to all the sights and centre of town. The service provided was excellent, and dinner at the Parador restaurant was great too. Would stay at the property again if visiting Trujillo.
