    Great Hotel

    rating11 May 2022

Well, I really cannot believe that the previous reviewer "TJ_AndFam" stayed in the same hotel as us!! We have stayed here twice before and wouldn't return if it was as bad as that! Ours was a mountain view room with excellent facilities and spotlessly clean. Since staying last year, they now save a buffet breakfast in a room opposite reception. It was excellent - well worth the 6Euros charged. There was everything you could have wanted, meats, cheeses, yoghurts, fresh fruit, homemade biscuits and cakes and freshly baked bread and croissants and endless coffee. A couple of points, which weren't as good was that we felt that the staff weren't particularly friendyl - this really needs attention The other thing which wasn't good for us is that the restaurant doesn't open until 9 pm, which is not good for us. Although, ordered at 9pm, we didn't receive our meal until 9.45! So, although we would stay at the hotel again, we probably wouldn't eat there.

If in Hervas, avoid this 'hotel'!

    rating14 Mar 2022

Terrible overall experience!! The 'supreme' room was a joke! Our view of air conditioning pipes was ridiculous. We did not sleep a wink as the spring beds were literally the most uncomfortable bed ive ever slept on! There is NO privacy glass/frosted pane windows in the bathroom!!! Im sure that's illegal and an utter disgrace. We booked the hotel for an indoor pool. We asked the reception how we use it, she said it was off limits, full. i think we saw two people in the whole hotel!!To top it off, the shower was an absolute shocker, you have to run the water FOR 20 MINUTES, before it gets scalding hot, followed by freezing within 30 seconds.....and then hot again! 20 minutes of water wasted each use. Terrible. Who has 20mins to pre-plan a shower! Our 'breakfast' was a stale roll with slices of kiwi and a miniscule pot of margarine. Their only saving grace is the lovely lady who served us this abomination. For covid times, you'd think hotels would go the extra mile. This was quite the opposite

    An excellent stopover!

    rating09 Oct 2021

We were travelling through Spain from Santander to Casares and generally find Hervas a convenient location to stay. We booked a night through Booking.com and for the price we paid didn’t expect a lot. So we were thrilled when we saw our room, which was beautifully refurbished and clean, with a mountain view. Really don’t understand the bad reviews- absolutely could not fault this hotel and will certainly use again.

A good stopover on the way South on the A66/E803.

    rating06 Jan 2017

If you're heading south from Santander on the A66/E803 the little town of Hervas is a great place to make an overnight stopover or even a couple of days stay. The hotel Sinagoga is the place to stay. It's 3 star but the staff are definitely 5 star. The accommodation is comfortable and clean. There is a bar and restaurant in the hotel as usual and both are very much used by locals, which I find is always a good recommendation. The town is small but has most of what you might need or want to buy. On Saturdays there is a small street market where local produce is on sale along with the usual stalls selling household items. As in much of Spain the hotel restaurant doesn't open until 2100hrs and even if you order food in the bar it won't be served until then. Breakfast consists of croissants, ham and cheese, fruit juices, coffee or tea and is self service between 0800 and 1100hrs. Lunch is served between 1300 and 1600hrs and there is a choice of dishes available with waiter service. The food is traditional Spanish cuisine and reasonably priced. There is a road up into the mountain national park which is well worth a visit. On the way out of the town there is an old bull ring that it is possible to see down into although it hasn't been used for years and is closed. The views are absolutely fabulous although you should ensure that the road isn't closed by snow in the winter months as I got caught out by this hence my stay in the hotel whilst my vehicle was recovered.

    Travelling through Spain

    rating26 Aug 2012

Travelling from Santandar to Gibraltar we stayed at the Sinagoga in Hevas which is about half way of the distance. Take the exit 436 off the A66 onto the EX - 203 towards Hervas town centre. The hotel is sign posted a you come into the town. The town itself is great and ideal for familys to wander round eat and drink at the many resturants especially down the cobbled side streets. Not many English speaking people but loved the typical Spanish way of lif. The Hotel itself did have English speaking receptionist and we had a lovely room, un suite, TV very clean and with balcony overlooking the mountains close by. We pain 80 euros with breakfast. We didnt eat Dinner as we went to the town in the evening. The perfect stop over , refreshed for the drive ahead the next day to Gibraltar. We stayed at the same Hotel on our return.
