Spectacular Golf Hotel
11 Mar 2026
This hotel and golf course just has to be seen to be believed, it is absolutely spectacular. From the staff, the bedroom and balcony, bar, dinner (we’re on half board) breakfast it’s all excellent but the golf course is sensational. We’re only here for two nights so just played the course the once but it is a really enjoyable course, quite up and down so I’d recommend a buggy unless you’re super fit and very young and the views from the course across the lake are breathtaking.

Complete missed opportunity!
29 May 2025
Drove from Lisbon to arrive on the island, a beautiful and grand arrival sequence crossing the causeway on a tree lined avenue. So! Was expecting more from the hotel overall. The welcome was very average as well as the rooms, amenities and service (with exception of one young lady in the restaurant). The hotel commands a fantastic position, although poorly oriented, against an impressive lake, however there is no access to the lakeside, we tried but ended up walking over builders debris. The general condition of the building and definitely the landscape was very poor. The pool was closed despite the temperature being 35 degrees when we arrived. The surrounding villas have been vandalized and the place is generally a complete mess. It is such a huge shame because this place and hotel could be absolutely outstanding, but unfortunately isn’t anywhere near what its position demands. Hotel Manager, Owner at Vincci Valdecanas Golf, responded to this review Dear Sir,Thank you for sharing your experience with us.We are delighted that the arrival to our hotel amidst the tree-lined avenue made a grand impression on you. The unique setting of Vincci Valdecañas Golf Hotel is certainly one of our distinguishing features, providing a serene escape within nature. However, we regret that some aspects of your stay did not meet the standards you expected. We apologize for the inconvenience you faced regarding lake access and the condition of the surrounding area. Please understand that certain developments on the island are beyond our control, but we are always looking for ways to enhance our guests' experiences. Regarding the pool, we strive to have it available seasonally, from June 15th to September 15th, to ensure optimal enjoyment for our guests. We acknowledge the concerns you've raised about the building and landscape upkeep and will take them into consideration as we continuously seek to improve our facilities.Nevertheless, we take pride in our hotel's position, offering stunning views and a quiet retreat for all our guests. We are grateful for your compliments on our location against the impressive lake backdrop and will reflect on your comments to ensure we are meeting the high standards our position demands. We hope to welcome you back on future occasions.Best wishes,General ManagerHotel Vincci Valdecanas Golf 4*

Terrible night

WIFI doesn't work. Water tastes bad and has a lot of chlorine. There isn't enough light in the hallways. The location is far from everywhere. Hotel Manager, Owner at Vincci Valdecanas Golf, responded to this review Dear Sir, We appreciate the time you have taken to provide us with your opinion of your stay.We are sorry that your experience did not fully meet your expectations. We understand the importance of a reliable internet connection and are looking into the issue you've mentioned regarding the WIFI service to ensure our guests can always stay connected. In regards to the water, please note that it is regularly tested to ensure its quality, and we are attentive to your comments about its taste and chlorine content. We also acknowledge your feedback on the lighting in the hallways and are reviewing our current setup to improve the ambience. Regarding the location, we are situated amidst nature which provides a tranquil retreat from the busyness of city life, yet we understand that some guests may find the distance from urban centers less convenient. Our position on Valdecañas Island is truly unique, offering a peaceful setting alongside a range of activities such as golf, nature walks, and family events. We hope you will consider staying with us again in the future. Warning on this hotel
29 Sept 2024
I’m sorry but the photos are a con the pool is green and beach is closed. Hotel was nice enough but we went expecting a lovely pool etc but it is in need of repair. How does this hotel get a trip advisor award in 2024 when the last review was in 2023 ?? just needs updating and remove the pool etc Hotel- cmanager, Owner at Vincci Valdecanas Golf, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us.We are truly sorry that your stay did not fully meet your expectations. We understand your concerns regarding the pool and beach areas. Our outdoor facilities are subject to seasonal maintenance, which may occasionally affect their appearance. We continuously work on improving our amenities to ensure they meet our high standards. Regarding the TripAdvisor award, these are typically based on reviews from the previous year, which explains the 2024 recognition.Nonetheless, we would like to highlight that our hotel is situated in a stunning location, offering a unique experience between the Sierra de Gredos mountains and the Monfragüe Nature Park. Our guests usually appreciate the tranquil environment, perfect for relaxation and enjoying nature. We offer a range of activities including golf, sailing, and equestrian facilities, which many find appealing during their stay.We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future for a more enjoyable experience.Best wishes,General ManagerHotel Vincci Valdecanas Golf 4*

hidden treasure

An unexpected discovery, a private island feel you can drive to. A very quiet environment, the hotel shares the isle with a private community of villas, there are parts that are not accessible to the hotel guests but you can access the beach via lift. Some areas are a little run down (abandoned building project around the beach and some abandoned private villas) but is not related to the hotel. Hotel is well-kept and nicely furnished, the views of the beach from the bar/cafeteria and restaurant are excellent, the food is acceptable. Will return.
