A tiny critique to make our stay excellent at the El Armador

    rating21 Sept 2025

We stayed at one of these fabulous self catering apartments 7 years ago, we so looked forward to a return visit. This time we stayed in a large 2 bedroom apartment. The decor as fabulous, stylish and classic. Two large double bedrooms, ample sitting area, kitchen with a dining table, cooker, hob, fridge, freezer, washing machine and plenty of crockery, great bathroom with more than generous shower and loads of space for toiletries. Slightly uncomfortable settee/sofa bed, however more than enough chairs to sit at. Super cool entry code system for both the outside door and apartment door, it’s ingenious and I don’t know how others have not adopted the idea. Our only constructive feedback would be in relation to the front desk, when we arrived there was no one there, after 10 minutes we had to phone to announce that we had arrived and wanted to check in. Whilst we fully appreciate that someone can’t always be seated at reception, perhaps a sign to give a telephone number to call if the desk is unattended would be good.We needed to leave early on the Sunday morning and they were very obliging in ordering a taxi for us, which arrived promptly round the corner at Plaza Mina.Absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend.

Beautiful chic apartment. Wonderful personal service. Great location on a large pedestrian street with great food options and a super bookstore. The only drawback is that we had a completely interior room with limited air flow, only air from the courtyard.

A wonderful apartment from which to enjoy the Cadiz Festival

    rating13 Mar 2025

Stephanie met us in the lobby as we were early and took care of our bags. The apartment was ideal overlooking the especially busy Calle Ancha, as unbeknownst to us it was Festival time! The two balconies complimented a room with all the amenities needed for a 5 day stay.We enjoyed the street singing and activity in all the squares. The rainy windy weather did not deter us from enjoying a wonderful city, great cuisine, and friendly people. Nicole Lehmkuhl, Marketing at El Armador Casa Palacio By Luxury Suites Cadiz, responded to this review Dear John,Thank you for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that Stephanie took good care of you and that you enjoyed the apartment and its lively location during the festival. It’s great to know that despite the weather, you made the most of the city’s charm, cuisine, and atmosphere. We hope to welcome you back for another memorable stay!Regards

    Wonderful Stay in Cadiz

    rating09 Aug 2024

Cadiz is a wonderful place, and we picked a great place to stay . The El Armador is wonderful central with cafes and supermarkets close by and only a 10 min walk to the wonderful market which is a must to visit we loved it . El Armador is very clean and tidy with lovely decor and spacious rooms. The receptionists were very charming and helpful. The street gets lively but thas no problem . Walk to the sea shore for the beautiful sunsets

Great place to stay and relax so you have Cadiz without the day trippers

    rating29 May 2024

Communication with the hotel was really easy, we checked in before we got there. There was a reception so we were given the keys by a lovely receptionist who was extremely helpful. The room was like a studio apartment. Full kitchen inc washing machine/dryer that had detergent to use. The bed was extremely comfy and it was nice to have a seating area. There was BBC world news as the only English TV but sometimes you just want some background noise when you come home in the evening. There was also a kettle, which as a none coffee drinker I appreciate. Right in the heart of the old town it had a lovely feel and everything there is to see in Cadiz was only a few mins walk away. The hotel has lots details of things to do and restaurants to visit , which was really helpful (one restaurant was La Candela and the best food we had in 2 weeks in Spain)Cadiz can be very busy with tourist from Seville in the mornings, so it was lovely to spend a few days in this hotel and just lie in and then go out for lunch and by 2pm virtually have the town to yourself and go to visit the cathedral later in the afternoon and have a drink in the square outside in the afternoon sun.I would definitely stay here again, I loved the style of the hotel, staff and relaxed atmosphere of Cadiz.
