    The worst breakfast in Spain.

    rating22 May 2026

Let’s deal with the positives first. Although out of character this is a modern Hotel with a fabulous pool area and sea facing comfortable bedrooms. Thehotel is clean and well positioned for access to the old city and lots of places to eat and drink.Unfortunately, after checking in and it’s becoming apparent that our air-conditioning in the bedroom was broken we were moved to a junior suite at 11 pm. We slept in the junior suite overnight, but our luggage was in a different room. The next morning when I went to the reception there was no manager available to see me before breakfast as we had a tour booked and I was keen to sort out our accommodation for our second night. breakfast I went back to reception and talked to the duty manager. He acknowledged the problems but was not really very apologetic. He said we could stay in the junior suite for our second night and that somebody would help us move our luggage which did happen. As , there was no apology for the discomfort we had suffered since our check-in at 3 pm, that the air-conditioning was broken or that when we went out for dinner and then returned, we were informed that the air-conditioning was fixed. The engineer who came into the room changed something but did not bother to check whether his work had resulted in the air-conditioning working. The night manager, Alex was very helpful in sorting out a replacement room for us and the upgrade was nice, but being in a largerroom was not really my objective. I had hoped for some kind of gesture from the Hotel. Perhaps not charging for the two nights parking or a gesture of some drinks or contribution to dinner in the Hotel‘s restaurant. But nothing was forthcoming and when I asked, he said the upgrade all he could do.Then we come to the restaurant facility for breakfast. Certain aspects of this were of a good quality. There was wide range of fruits and cold meat. But the hot counter was about us unpleasant looking as we had seen in our previous 10 days in Andalusia. There was a surfer and somebody who prepared eggs but she would best be described as unable to cook and just looked grubby.I requested an egg White omelette. What I got Back was basically a pile of burnt egg White from the bottom of the pan and oil. I don’t know how she had the cheek to present it to me. The same lady was cooking hot food the next day and I chose to just pass. Getting a hot drink was impossible and the teabags were hidden away and in any event you could not get boiling water to make a proper cup of tea.I would just warn anybody travelling around the area to be mindful of what to expect here. We had stayed in hotels with 20 to 30 rooms before this hotel. They all had delicious breakfast with both hot and cold food. The staff were polite in all the other hotels but in the Parado, you really felt that they couldn’t care less and it was just like a canteen. The only other positive was the underground car park which can be accessed from each Floor directly but to add an additional cost of €21 a night. EDUARDO ORIOLA LIJARCIO, Other at Parador De Cadiz, responded to this review Dear Guest,First of all, I would like to thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review of your stay with us. Feedback like yours helps us carefully review those areas where we clearly did not meet expectations. As we had the opportunity to discuss personally during your stay, I would like to once again offer my sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused from the moment of your arrival. I completely understand how frustrating it must have been to discover an issue with the air conditioning after check-in and then have to change rooms late in the evening.Although we were able to accommodate you in a Junior Suite so that you could rest more comfortably, we are fully aware that a room upgrade does not completely make up for the disruption caused. There is a considerable difference between the room category originally booked and the Junior Suite and, for that reason, our intention was to compensate you in the best possible way while resolving the issue as quickly and comfortably as possible for you.I would also like to sincerely apologise if, during our conversation, I did not properly convey how sorry we truly were about the situation. At no point was it our intention to minimise the inconvenience caused, as we fully understand how experiences like this can affect a stay.I am pleased that Alex was able to assist you promptly that evening and arrange the room change, as well as help coordinate the luggage transfer afterwards so you could continue your stay more comfortably. I can also confirm that the technical issue was fully reviewed and resolved by our maintenance team.Regarding breakfast, I also appreciate you highlighting both the positive aspects and the areas you felt could be improved. We have taken note of your comments concerning the hot food selection and service, as they help us continue reviewing procedures and standards within the department. We genuinely regret that parts of your stay did not reflect the experience we aim to provide, especially considering the location, facilities and overall standards we strive for.Nevertheless, we truly appreciate your positive comments regarding the views, the hotel’s location, the swimming pool and the comfort of the facilities.Kind regards.Carlos Rosich

    Great location

    rating07 May 2026

This is a large modern hotel complex in an enviable location overlooking the ocean but still walking distance from the old town and some great tapas bars. Parking was available in the huge underground parking area at €21 per night. Our room was functional but a little sterile albeit it did have a nice balcony with views overlooking the pool and the sea beyond. Amenities were lacking - there was no tea/coffee, no dressing robes, and no slippers. On the plus side, the leisure facilities are very good and included an indoor pool, spa, plus a small gym. Outside, there were three further pools to choose from. Breakfast was fine except that there was only a very limited range of hot dishes which were controlled by the chef at the egg station (an attempt at portion control?). Also the coffee machines were not the best and were in constant use. EDUARDO ORIOLA LIJARCIO, Other at Parador De Cadiz, responded to this review Dear ZigettThank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We are pleased that you enjoyed our oceanfront setting within easy reach of the old town, as well as the convenience of our parking facilities. It is wonderful to hear that the balcony views and our leisure amenities, including the pools, spa, and gym, contributed positively to your stay. We also appreciate your comments regarding breakfast, and we are glad it met your expectations overall. We regret that certain in-room comforts and elements of the breakfast experience did not align fully with what you had anticipated. Our goal is to provide thoughtfully appointed accommodations and a well-rounded dining offering that reflects our commitment to quality and comfort.Thank you again for your insights, which help us uphold the standards our guests value. We look forward to the opportunity to welcome you back for an even more enjoyable visit.Best regards,

    Great room, great view!

    rating23 Apr 2026

We booked a superior room and the room was very nice and well equiped, including the use of a robe and slippers. The view of the cosst from the large balcony was supperb. The hotel and room were in general well kept up. We had diner and breakfast included with the room. The breakfast buffet was excellent with so many choices. Diner was good, but not excellent and service was slow (they would need more staff). All and all, I would definetelly book here again when in the region. What a view!

    rating03 Apr 2026

My husband and I recently stayed at the Parador De Cadiz while on a brief visit to Cadiz. It was the perfect hotel for us after a few very busy, hectic days. Our room was perfect-quiet, immaculate, comfortable with every thing we needed, and topped off with a view of the sea. The sunset was spectacular! The hotel breakfast had many different delicious choices. We enjoyed our meal at a table looking out over the water. Parking was easy, as there is a garage right at the hotel. It is easy to walk along the shoreline, as there is a "boardwalk" that makes for a perfect stroll or run. This is accessed right outside the hotel. EDUARDO ORIOLA LIJARCIO, Other at Parador De Cadiz, responded to this review Madam,Thank you for sharing such thoughtful feedback about your stay. We are delighted that your room offered the comfort and tranquility you were seeking, and that the sea view and sunset made your visit memorable. It is wonderful to know you enjoyed the breakfast variety and the setting overlooking the water. We are also pleased that the convenient parking and easy access to the shoreline walkway enhanced your experience.Your kind words reflect the service and atmosphere we strive to provide for every guest. We look forward to the pleasure of welcoming you back on your next visit to Cádiz.Best regards,
